I hardly have any CDs by bands whose name begins with "A". Are there even that many good A-bands out there?
I like Audioslave.
But ABBA is lame.

My A section includes...
AC/DC (king of all A's) ABBA (these Swedes are not "lame" as you allege) The Aints (Ed Kuepper of The Saints) Alternative TV (great early UK punk) Angry Samoans (great LA punk) The Avengers (great SF punk)
My Alice Cooper is in the 'C' section. |

I like Ash. Do solo artists count? Atom and his Package is...I like him, but not everyone would, or even should. I feel bad about saying that. What if people don't respect my opinion because by opinion contradicts their opinion and, therefore, is wrong, according to them? |

Only A's in my CD collection are:
Susanne Abbuehl ... And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead Tori Amos Fiona Apple Apples in Stereo Louis Armstrong
The first 2 being the only ones I've actually listened to with any regularity in the last months.
In my MP3 collection, 3 Azure Ray songs from epitonic, The Amps, The Apples in Stereo, and I'm sure I have at least one song by The Avengers somewhere.
Hey, that's not much. Poor A. Must do something about it.

Fair play, the Saints are the single greatest 1st wave punk band. Hows the Aint's?

I only have two albums (both Australian pressings). 'Autocannibalism' is a lot like Ed Kuepper's solo stuff, but maybe a little heavier and less poppy than most of it. 'S.L.S.Q.' is a live recording of Saints songs, plus a 10-minute (!) version of Del Shannon's "Runaway". |

new band: All Night Party.
they just have a single out right now (called All Night Party). pretty good stuff.
not to change the subject but have you ever noticed how the "S" section is the biggest one in the record store? there are so many S bands. i think because it sounds more sexy.. like Sex Pistols (although they have the word sex in the name).. seriously though, there are like a zillion S bands.
sadly, there are very few "X" bands.. (except for X of course).
poor letter X. so neglected. |

How is the "Z" section looking these days? Zappa still probably has the most albums of any Z artist.

The Saints are most definately one of the more overlooked bands there ever was. I got hooked on the Wild About You collection which is like the first three lp's I think. Im nuts about them now. Rocket from the Crypt owes their entire career to three Saints songs.
