I think My Favorite Kiss coulda been promoed to country & western stations with some success. Just kidding, sorta, but it does seem that if Frank wanted to pick up extra coins he could write country songs and really offer the genre something new. Of course he might damage his cred with the alterna-crowd. Guess he's still waiting to hear from Austin City Limits.
"My Favorite Kiss" or "Goodbye Lorraine" easily could be played on country stations, although I'm not too sure how the Travis Tritt and Bonnie Rait crowd would recieve it...

Massif Centrale should certainly have been the first single taken from SMYT, but I don't think it would have been a hit - too hard and too "bizarre". Personally I consider His Kingly Cave to be the best FB "missed hit".
I always thought that "Places named after numbers" had i nice ring to it. Still i agree that "St francis dam disaster" is a great track my favorite on "dog in the sand"
