Who did Princess Mononoke? Was that Hayao Miyazaki?
Anyone ever see "Serial Experiments L.A.I.N."? Akira? |

Yes, Princess Mononoke was Miyazaki. I'm dying to get My Neighbor Totoro, but am waiting for Disney to release a good box screen version with a japanese dialog option. Castle in the sky is very good also, but it's more of his epic style, like Princess. I like the smaller character driven stories like Spirited and Kiki's Delivery Service. Have you seen Kiki's, Mere? From what I've heard of Totoro it's in the same vein, ie. sweet, magical. Though you're kid won't appreciate it, it's much better if you switch the japanese audio on and read the subtitles. Totally different movie that way. Much smarter without Disney dumbing it down. It's really an insult to think kids need this type of treatment. |
