I'd like to get your thoughts on these questions:
What is a fair ticket price for a new band that you like, but have never seen before?
What is a fair ticket price for one of your favorite bands?
What is a fair ticket price for your all-time favorite band? |

well you are asking whats fair... not what im willing to pay, 20 bucks is fair... but If Radiohead wants to go ahead and charge 60 bucks for tickets...then hell... im not gettin drunk that week... and before anyone comments im very well aware that it's not actually radiohead that is responsible for that...

1) $10-15 2) $15-30 3) $20-$40
Though, of course, I'd probably see FB for much more than that, I don't think it'd be fair.

1) $17 2) $31 3) $53
I'm sure my judgment is skewed after all these years of letting ticket vendors skewer me, but after all that these figures seem fair. Depends on the person buying them (which I guess is the point of this thread, but back to business). Also, of course, depends on the venue - bands gotta make money from us if we want them to come back. So there are probably about five bands for whom I'd clean out my bank account if I had reason to believe it was my last chance to see them and that would be fair to me.

I don't know but definitely not the $110/ticket I had to pay for Chilis tix. Answer me this though, anyone, how does it work that these companies like showtime tix can buy huge blocks of tix until noone else can get any and then charge double? Isn't scalping illegal? I mean damn ticketmaster is the middleman we don't need anymore! |

ya dave. i'd dish out $20 bucks if you came with a band to winnipeg to play frank black covers. i'd pay $40 to see the frank black tribute bands do a festival. that would be a riot.

Crispy, somewhere you asked me when the BSS concert was and I meant to reply before I left, but didn't get a chance. It comes this weekend...don't have the exact date, but I can get it to 'ya.

There's no maybe about it. You, Carolyn, Mike, and myself will all be meeting at the said event. Mike has promised free drinks for all parties.
<ahem> It's a good thing he's too busy with school to see this...

Strange question.. It really depends on the band. I might not have seen the band before, but they may already have a big following, causing a price inflation. Lots of variables... but i will try.
1) free - 20 2) 8 - 30 3) 30+ |
