I don't know what you all think, but I firmly believe that the word "fuck" makes things funnier. Can you be funny without the word fuck? Of course. The proper usage of fuck in a comedic situation intensifies the hilarity of it.

-a good example would be the Jacque Tati movie 'Traffic'
-there is no dialogue.

I just look at it becoming whatever part of speech it is when you exemplify or describe an adjective. It can be used for all purposes, and therein lies it's greatness.
"Fucking" while actually a verb, is used to describe good things (fucking great) bad things (also fucking great, only used in a sarcastic tone) an exclamation of surprise (FUCK!) anger (FUCK!!) dismay (fuck...) boredom (fuck.) a curse (FUCK YOU) or an invitation (Wanna fuck?) It can also be applied as a noun as well. (I'd give her such a fuck) or (I'd give her such a good fucking) or you can call someone a fuck. (You little fuck or you little fucker.)

His wife threw him out of the house because he drank too much and liked to watch TV. Did I mention he drank beer. He stayed at a hotel that night, when suddenly his penis began to hurt. After 3 days in the hotel his penis began to ache and he woke up with nasty on his boxers. He went to doctor and they gave him some pills that gave him the shits. He went back to the hotel and shit for a few days. His wife finally found him and asked him to come home. He told her he has chlamydia, therefore she cheated on him. She lies and says it was him who had cheated [this is a genderless story btw, you can always replace the sexes, I'm not being sexist]. They fight, he shits some more. Finally he goes back to the house a week later. He goes in the front door to find his wife and another man. They argue and a divorce is unoficially announced. He leaves. He goes back to the hotel. While on the toilet shitting with a burning penis he utters only one word as he exhales... "fuck"
I still don't think that made it funny.

Or your principle is in front of the school for an assembly and his pants fall down. there's silence for 10 seconds, then he looks down and you hear him say "ah, fuck.". I guess I find people doing the opposite of what they stand for funny, looking at it like this. |

Eh, the word "fuck" is just spicing. Some comedians or filmmakers choose to use it as a spice, some don't. When it is used, it sometimes adds nice flavoring to the whole thing, while other times, it is intrusive on the taste and ruins it.
The Simpsons is the funniest humor in my opinion, and it doesn't need that word.
Quentin Tarantino is also quite humorous, and he knows how to distribute the word "fuck" very effectively so that it adds a great deal to his films, to the point that it becomes another personality or character in the film.
If I am going to use "fuck," I like to throw it into the middle of a single word, like "in-fucking-tolerable" or "un-fucking-believable"
This dude I knew in high school was once trying to say "everything I do is so fucking incoherent" but slipped up and said, "everything I do is insofuckingcoherent". |

I have more to add.
Speaking of losing wallets and the use of profanity, I know of this dude who lost couldn't find his wallet and was getting extremely frustrated about it (as anyone would), and finally erupted with: WHER IS MY FUCKING! FUCKING! FUCKING! WALLET!" with brief pauses between each profanity. I've never heard of somebody using the same profanity three times in a row like that. It's quite effective. |

Well, I never thought it was a profanity. I always believed it was some kind of acronym for Fornication Under Consent of the King, and that it was born in England, during the late middle-ages, due to the suffocating moral pressure from the Anglican Church which had falled into disbelief after King Henry's divorce and subsequent masturbation issues.
Hope I don't get killed by some bloody english sod, but I know their sense of humor right, I know there will be no problem at all. Notatall.
