I saw Frank Black in Lille and read all gig reviews and I have to admit I am disappointed of 2003 set lists...There are so many great songs he almost never play live : first is End of Miles !! Why doesn't he play it that much? And what about San Antonio Texas, Out of State, Valentine and Garuda, His Kingly Cave...now that he plays more shortly, I would prefer hearing these songs instead of Black Rider (thank you but this song already ended all 2001 concerts!),Suffering (??), even I love your brain...does that mean we'll have to wait for 3 years before hearing them live like for Billy Radcliffe? Anyway, I will go seeing him again in Brussels hoping he will play more new stuffs...Am I the only one disappointing of the set list?

I think the setlist's are great, although those songs are missed indeed.
the end of miles seems really hard to sing to me, in an rolling stone interview frank said he was so proud of the song, maybe because they had troubles to record it properly? Just a thought...
the one song I want them to play live is St.Francis Dam Disaster

Yeah, I am sure we all know the lyrics - but it would be a hell of a long spell of us singing!
PS. Hi, Mike! |

Hey - just noticed I'm a 'dog in the sand'. I'm usually a dog in the house, or a dog in the manger!

Yes, that's what he told me a couple of years ago.

Yeah, you're more likely to see him get a hipster Strokes-like "bedhead" haircut than see him perform Debaser. |

Maybe he will play 'where is my mind', 'planet of sound' or 'here comes your man'! Probably it is hard, but surely his performance will be great. Must confess I never heard him live ! Can you forgive me?

Ok I agree to say set lists are very nice anyway...but how can't you be disappointed (if you follow FB from a long time, not if you are a newcomer...) when you see that on the 41 new songs FB published since 2001 tour, there are 19 he NEVER plays !! Ok some old songs have to be part of his shows and it is totally normal(Freedom Rock, Los Angeles, Suerabound, Where is my mind...) but instead of hearing every time songs like "All my ghosts, Headache,...that are great anyway, I would prefer hearing "His Kingly Cave, End Of Miles, San Antonio, True Blue, Valentine and Garuda, Out of State...that are representative of the DITS post generation ! I just try not to always be positive on FB, even if I always would like to !!
