I just lumped alot of the CDs I've put on my computer into a huge mix playlist. Now I'm listening to it. It's on shuffle and it picked Jeff Buckley's "Last Goodbye."

Work proved to be a HUGE interruption in my Friday night full of late night postings. (I got shocked tonight -- as in, electrocuted!! It sucked!!) This particular night I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow -- school at 8 a.m. (yeah, Saturday classes suck) and then my daughter's 1st b-day!!!
Will definitely be on this forum almost any other night of the week, though.

Yeah, I'm okay. It wasn't enough voltage to do any real damage, just pissed me off that my work won't opt for new equipment,as I'm not the first person who got zapped on this piece of shit grease filter we have. (Used to clean out the fryers.) It's got all sorts of broken parts and exposed wiring and shit. Fortunately, I don't usually work the fry side of the line back in the kitchen, so I don't usually have to deal with filtering the grease in the fry bins and the like. My work is just too cheap to bother getting it replaced, they'd rather spend a little less money to get it fixed over and over and over again. |

Interesting fact, did you know it's actually the current that kills you and not the voltage? Maybe not interesting, but, well, fact at least.

CoF, you're not an Eastcoaster . . . maybe I should change this to the Late-nighter's thread.

but that wouldn't really work for me cause then people would still just be posting at all hours hmmmm. I'll figure it out. |

I know, but I figure there's always talk of east coast, west coast, and I have to say, well, what about us blokes stuck in the middle. Must we be deprived of all the coolness? Must we?!
The answer is yes.

Are you a graphic arts major or something? I was contemplating doing that.. I really have no freaking clue what I want to major in. Except maybe music or something with art. But I think I'd rather just be in a band and major in something other than music so I can "fall back" on that other major.

I'm just going for my A.D. right now, but I plan on transferring to the University of Tennessee in a couple of semesters. My tentative plan is to go to school to teach college-level history. (Yeah, yeah, I know, it sounds boring. For reasons unfathomable to me, I find history compellingly interesting. Twisted, huh?) The graphic arts field doesn't require any certain level of education to get pro work. (Although that is always a benefit!) I figure teaching history will be my "fall-back" job, and in the interim if I can make it in graphic design or any sort of artistic endeavor then I will. (There is alot more money in 3D animation and graphic design than in teaching, unless you're at an ivy-league school. But even adjunct teaching pays alot more than what I make now, and you don't have to have a Phd to teach adjunct.)
I've been giving alot of attention and worry recently to what avenue I want to pursue. My first love is art, but that's a kind of hit-or-miss field, and if I don't have the talent then what can I do? (I'm not belittling my talent, but I don't know if I'm any good at art at all in the eyes of professionals.) I just don't want to be at Ruby Tuesdays in 10 years, or even 5. History would be a fufilling career for me, just different from what I envisioned myself doing when I was younger.
I know there are a few teachers on this board. If any of you (Darwin, Stuart) have any advice to give someone interested in teaching college-level history, please and by all means impart to me with your wisdom. |

but wait! we turn back the clocks tonight which means that for a couple of hours we won't have such a difference in time between us. Perhaps the board will thrive or perhaps the eastcoasters will just be lame and throw away that extra hour with sleep.

I remember seeing it when it started but I don't think i've ever posted there. What was the thread a whil ago where people would post the album covers of the cds they were currently listening to? That wasn't the Henhouse was it? I lost track.

I just looked them up on Google Image Search. They appear that size on the forum through no action of mine, though. |
