My point is that we are dealing with a older band, whats the cost if Frank got up there and did some of the early rough stuff. Most off the songs were writing by a much younger Band. Is it going to be a whole concert with the more mellow track like, havalina, veloria or here comes your man? Your thoughts? Well is Frank should lose is voice, or worse. I´d rather he just forgot the whole thing. It not like the Pixies needs a pick me up. The myth and the legend is doing just fine.

First of all I don't think there will be a concert (not on a short notice that is) and if you have ever seen the catholics you will know that FB rocks a little bit more and he screams louder. I mean we all love the scream on 'tame' but have you heard him scream on gorden gano track 'run'? I can only say he improved as a player and singer

All i´m saying, he´s not as young as he once were. And about the solo stuff, well that´s your arguement. I´s like making a maratonrunner do a 100 meters dash, it can be done but shouldent. I say let the past be past, and look forward. Maybe they could form a new band "the longbearded Pixies" I dident mean that last bit sorry.

I don't know if a pixies reunion would be any good but I still think they can play as a motherfucker (all of them)

I'm guessing they'll all be better musically, possibly with the exception of kims voice, its starting 2 go a bit croaky but its still all good, and i dunno if dave'll still be as fantastic cos i dunno if he'll get as much practise

I'm not sure that the reunion of the pixies is a good idea...
But, of course, I would see them once time in my life, so I'll try to go to one of their concert if I can.
But I think a reunion will kill the myth. Even if they do good music, I'm not sure that they'll can do as good as they did in the end of the 80's...
Wait and see...

Fuck the myth. It's like not wanting to have sex because you're afraid it might not be as good as you expected. I say it's gonna be great! |

i think they should make a tour and at each concert, play one album in full length. or at each concert, playing only fast & hard songs OR mellow ones. i don't know why, but i like that idea.
oh, and each concert should start with 'rock music' - the best opener ever. |

Why not? Not sure if I would go. I am a huge Pixies fan as well as FB&C's. I would not go if the tickets were forty dollars and the opening act was Sum 41! I hope they are not a sideshow attraction at festivals. If they come and play the same clubs and taverns that the Catholics have been playing I will definitely go and support them.

I'm pretty sure that Frank can still hold up through all the screaming of a Pixies set, he doesn't seem to be losing many notes in his range, in fact he seems to be opening more up plus he has much better control over his voice now I'm sure, since he has so much more experience.

That´s all good but, can he(Frank) even remember the old Frank. And were he someone he likes? Maybe he thinks that the younger him were abit young and stupid? Meaning the lyricks...Not that i think anything like that. But an artist grows up, and do his or hers a different way. Some for the better, some for the worse.

If the pixies do infact continue with this reunion and tour and whatnot, i will definitely see them, i mean while i will be a bit apprehensive only cos i wouldnt want to be dissappointed, at the same time i cant imagine being disappointed by the pixies. i didnt see them in the 80s seeing as i was only just being born, so i really have nothing to compare it to, and id rather see them once in my life than never at all! i have a feeling that even if frank black's scream isnt as powerful as it was on tame on doolittle, and even if kim deal's voice isnt as smooth, i will still be blown away.

There is nothing to be worried about, musician and voice-wise. I saw the Breeders a couple times over the last year and Kim put on an excellent show.
Both the Breeders and FB&TC can still rock a show - they haven't lost their edge, and they have become better musicians over the years.
For those of you that were not able to see the Pixies live - screw the legend. I've seen hundred of rock shows, and the Pixes live at the Boathouse in Norfolk, VA on the Trompe tour is still in the top 3 shows I've ever seen.
I have no fear that a reunion will tarnish that memory. I've seen 10 or so FB shows, and 3 or 4 of them sucked (well, let's say they weren't as good as some of the others). But the ones that rocked were not ruined by the ones that sucked.
I would just be happy to see the Pixies making music together again. If the band were fat and old and just wanted to make some money, I might be concerned, but the band members are still out there rocking, and rocking well. I have no doubt that any new Pixes project, whether live shows, or a new album could be nothing but a good thing. |

| PS - after rereading my post, it sound kind of pompous - I'm not trying to boast here about how many shows I've seen or anything, just trying to put my thoughts in perspective. |

the pixies having a reunion is not the problem
its the pixies not having a reunion that is the problem i was born the year they started and they only came to my country once and u old ppl take it for granted that they used to perform live some of their best music was played live its becuz the crowd gave them that extra bit of energy they need to show the new generation what music is all about |
