Well, I don't remember anything about the actual feet themselves, but her toes were long, craggily, and very boney. They jutted out at funny seemingly random angles with each knuckle being different than the last.
Her nails were done nicely though, if I remember correctly.

Yeah, I remember being taken aback by the lack of aesthetic beauty in Uma's feet.
But I'll be shitted upon and damned if the rest of her doesn't more than make up for that small flaw....

Maybe that's part of what makes them so awful is that the rest of her is so not-awful.

Maybe it was a little efx joke by Tarantino? I haven't seen the movie yet, but it seems like something he would do to mess with people. |

I really don't find her attractive at all. There was the one scene in the restaraunt when she looked pretty good and I think I saw her at a premier once where she looked good but she's usually pretty homely.

I think I have been spared the "Foot" gene in that I don't look at feet as being nice or not nice. They are just feet. They are just a necessity to walk around on.
I guess any mention of the foot in that movie was just to move along the plot point that her legs had atrophy or entrphyed or whatever and she had to get them moving again. I wasn't trying to think about them as being nice or not.
Thank the lord because obviously people are nOT turned on by Uma's piggies. |

My question was if her legs had atrophied so completely, where did her upper body strength come from to drag herself around and smash the guy's skull in the door?

well, you see, now that's a slippery slope.
The movie had ALL SORTS of shit like that in it if you really wanted to dig.
But there was something about it that just said.."Shhhhhh....it's a movie....let it go....it's gonna be all right baby....."
Umm, at least it did when I was watching it. |

I don't understand your question CoF. She was only paralyzed from the waist down. Why wouldn't she have had the upper body strength?

Was she paralyzed, because my impression was just the atrophy of not using her muscles for four years. I suppose if it's paralysis then things make a lot more sense except, perhaps, for her recovery. But it could happen, the mind's a crazy thing.
Jason, yeah, I know, sometimes I'm willing to force myself into a state of verisimilitude, but it's very rare. This was one case. I saw the flaws and said to myself, "Oh well. Keep going."
But I always find myself wondering after why you would leave such a glaring flaw there if you knew about it.

i had a similar question about that.. if she was in a coma for 4 years, wouldn't her muscles basically be jell-o?

That's a good point. I forgot about the 4 years. hmmm. Yeah I though if it was that she was paralyzed the meditation scene made a lot of sense but now I'm not so sure. Oh well. Perhaps they exercised her or perhaps that wasn't the first time she was sold for sex and that was her workout. Oh man, that's gross - I'm sorry. It did just hit me though that other people had probably slept with her during her coma - how horrible.

apparantly the Childcare Analysis Project (CAP) didn't think too highly of KILL BILL. they are a sub-division of the Christian Analysis of American Culture (CAAC) group.

Come on guys. The film is not a realistic depiction of events. If you want that, go read the Scientific Monthly journal or some analytical crap like that. This film is a “Fantasy”. Which means it has it’s own logic, it’s own set of rules and parameters; completely separate to the ones in our world. Pulp Fiction was the exact same way. Think parallel universe to ours. Things are similar but skewed just the same. |

And Bart, you hit the nail squarely on the head.
Seak and Stupor, if you are talking about the picture of the Pussy Wagon, that is from the movie, which if you saw would make sense.
Here's something you should try. You should try knowing what you are making rude comments about before you try to give us your opinion.
You wanna try that for me buddy, ok. |

Going back to what Noisy said about focusing in on violence as entertainment:
Oh, come on, sir. I think that damn near anyone should be able to discern reality from fiction, especially with violence so over the top and flashy as Kill Bill's. I believe Floop or someone called you a "buzz kill" - even if it was said (er, typed) so ironically, you totally ARE, dude. I'm pretty much a dyed-in-the-wool lefty, but you seem to be taking things a bit to the extreme, and as such, you're pinning yourself into a bit of an infinite regress of paradoxes. "Freedom of speech! But, y'know, we - we don't need the violence in cinema! Come on!"

Actually Tarantino said in an interview I saw last night that Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, and Jackie Brown are all meant to be set in the real world, where as Kill Bill is the kind of film that characters from the original trilogy would see if the went to the movies. Something along those lines anyway

My wife and & I went and saw it last night. I thought it was pretty good. It kind had a rock concert vibe to it. Obviously Terentino always has kickass music in his films. This one however, with the emphasis on awesome fightscenes, it had me tapping my foot which was kind of unusual for a movie. I'm looking forward to volume II. The only downer was the couple in front of us guzzling beers and necking the whole time. I'm usually not the type to tell someone to shutup, but I finally "shsssd" them. I felt like a godamn librarian. But come on, it's the new QT.

I used to work at a cinema and one of the staff once found a big bag of smack behind the back row. Some dealer must have been very, very unhappy.

Yeah, I guess I over-reacted. And yeah, I’m grumpy this morning. But I don’t like being talked down to. That signature is insulting and unneccesary. Like stabbing the body one last time after the person’s already dead. |

Bart, I don't think he was talking down to you, just continuing the conversation. He seems to have afforded your earlier comment some respect, because he was seriously contemplating what you said as he watched that interview - but maybe my perspective is skewed. As far as his sig goes, it's a joke, and anyway, he's had that sig for a while - seems like it's only arguing that the old theory that random behavior eventually produces genius is misguided (like monkeys accidentally writing a Shakespeare play - which was tested recently, and the monkeys typed a bunch of s'es and pooped on the keyboards). Well, shoot me down if it's just that you hate his sig because you think it's dumb. I don't understand why there's so much animosity and miscommunication on this forum these days. I'm thinkin that people who like Frank Black are pretty much on the same page, and deserving of respect and the benefit of doubt, and I don't expect that they are looking for a fight. Then again, there seems to be a proliferation of trolling lately - shows what i know....
