i had the misfortune of seeing the last hour of last night's SNL and john mayer performing twice was a portion of the torture.
from his boring lyrics and totally uninteresting strum strum strumming away he is utterly without merit. his singing style is so fucking contrived, it makes me want to vomit. like macey gray, he has zero talent and tries to replace it with a horrible gimmick voice.
he's not even like GQ studly (or is he? i'm a bad judge of male looks i guess), so i really, really don't see why he's famous. |

Oh come now...he's the new and improved younger Dave Matthews.
The new crop of Sorority girls have to have SOMETHING to dance to.
Mayer sucks the shit out of the microbes that are in shit. |

He sounds about as bad as Billy Corgan and the Pumpkins when they did "Adore."

that's a good point. but even dave matthews has more talent than john mayer. i guess the dave matthews-esqueness is why he's famous.

Dave Matthews is definitely more talented than John "Oscar" Mayer "Weiner".
Mayer is a Berklee ass-kiss. |

hhmmmm tensions. Anyway, John Mayer is about the worst "musician" alive. Matthews blows too. Watching either of them makes me want to heave. Mayer is music for girls and their mothers. I haven't met a guy yet who likes him though I've heard of a few. |

hahahahah.
yes it has been, but that has nothing to do with me being angry or you thinking that i'm angry because you're stupid.
do you have this much trouble following a conversation in real life or just when you're forced to read? :( |

I have problems following the conversations of idiots, especially idiots who are trying to convince themselves that they're anything but. I know you, Ebb. You will reply by laughing at my comment, and then make a lame-ass comment of your own. Try something new. Try to shut the fuck up for just a bit. |

Unfortunately I've heard John Mayer's whole first album and it is without a doubt the worst, most boring, sleepy-ass music I've ever heard. it was in the background when I was hanging out with a few acquaintances and I honestly couldn't take it. A bunch of whiney girls would have gotten mad if I changed it because they seemed to love it. How? Why? I have no clue.

From what I've unfortunately seen of Mayer, even his stage setup mocks Dave Matthews. Look at the sensitive guy with the acoustic guitar. He's a fucking Dave Matthews clone. Now there are two and I didn't even like the first one. These things are multiplying and someone's got to stop them.
The song I saw was a completely contrived "live" show with panning cameras hanging from tracks above a crowd of swooning girls in their late teens/early 20s. There were probably "applause" signs to remind them when to clap. |

I hate everything about John Mayer. How 'bout those awful facial expressions he makes while singing? Shitty lyrics, shitty music, etc.... I'd like to see John Mayer stripped naked and set loose in the crowd at a Pantera show. |

I loath those facial expressions! I always complain about them. A girl told me the other day that he does that on purpose. WHY! Does he think it'll make his unique?
I did hear him say something I liked though. He said in an interview, "That so many girls now find me attractive only proves that the guitar is the perfect airbrush." At least he's honest. |

I actually went to college with him. Didn't really know him though as he only stayed for one semester.
He's a fantastic guitar player, mediocre songwriter, terrible vocalist, and(though he doesn't know it yet,) gay as a gay dollar bill. He makes shopping at the supermarket unenjoyable. Everytime that shitty "body-wonderland" song comes on, I throw my milk and eggs at the nearest shopper and run screaming out the door. Then I sit in the tub with a box of S.O.S. and scrub my body bloody, but I never get clean.

This is a true story. My roommate and I used to have "John Mayer Wars", wherein we'd try to find creative ways to subject eachother to the song "Body is a Wonderland" (easily one of the worst songs ever written). My roommate finally won when--as I showered, he sent the song to my computer as an MP3, played it, put it on repeat, turned the volume up all the way and removed the knob so I couldn't turn it down, and put on a screen saver with a password so I couldn't get to it. It was genius, and all in 10 minutes or so. |

this thread makes me feel all warm inside. I thought I was the only one who realized that Mayer is totally derived and without merit.
My crystal ball says he will be judging American Jr's by next year and on Celebrity Mole thereafter.... |

Are you suggesting that he somehow merits being compared with Paul Lynde? How dare you!
