JESUS!

So now I only have one more Catholic to collect and one more Pixie!

So story goes running an hour late I turn up as opening band are finshing and the gig itself was AWESOME!.

Crap at remembering set lists but the one surprise was farewell and nowt from Cult or Fu...

The lighting was great and there were no hassels taking pics which as someone inclined to was a great reliefe & there was an excellent mosh pit going on - I would have partaken but for silly excuses...

(Noisy Dave I promise they are in the post the second I hit Kent...)

Lots of stuff from SMYT and a few old Pixie tunes for good measure which went down brilliantly with the crowd. One tune Farewell threw me for screaming along but its a first to say I knew the words and yelled happily to all songs.

They played seemlessly which given the absence of Mr. Boutier was most unprecedented and of all the talented musicians on stage, kudos to the chap whose name eludes me right now but trust me; has a fantastic future if tonights performance was anything to go by...

It was odd cos with 2 small encores to an adoring crowd who were NOT prepared to believe that the fun was over I can honestly say that for the first time I appreciate how much effort goes into touring - by the time I've ceased to panic about getting home and the acquisition of food is my concern; Charles and the boys were out packing up ready for the big push to the next town and to be honest, that's hard fucking work going on right there...

After the gig I got to speak to Rich who humoured me beyond the call of duty, same for both Daves and CHARLES.

OH YES!

Finally got to meet the man! Got a hug and then later a kiss and an autograph - all of which makes me glad I made the trek from Kent to Edinburgh to have the birthday bash of my life!

Sorry didn't get to meet any of you guys but like the song goes: I'll see you round the farewell bend!

Bed beckons...toodles!

Ahh, see small problemo there cos being a girl and all I am given to taking my time getting all set for a night on the town - and was running an hour late cos I reckoned on it taking less time to see all Edinburgh Castles finery.

I was the girl in the red tartan skirt standing over to the extreme left of the stage - unknowingly in front of the Barriers by Rich Gilbert the whole night.

Flaming great evening tho - ended up unable to sleep so went round the clock yakking to other hostel dwellers, drinking Guiness & Jim Beam untill 9 am the following day when I quit and showered then toured some art galleries and museums till everything closed - then ended up watching a movie before catching overnight bus back to London.

Birthdays are great like that aren't they? Thanks Mere!

Course, now I have to acquire tix to the Astoria - wish me luck!!!

I did get to wondering if my conclusions concerning "boys from boards"
was entirely unfounded...
