Just back from it and can only describe it in two words....Bloody Amazing. Somehow I ended up at the crush barrier right in front of the 2 Daves here is a bash at the setlist (it'll be in the wrong order and missing some stuff, but here goes)
This old Heartache Headache Robert Onion Velvety Whiskey in your Shoes Freedom Rock California Bound Bullet Billy Radcliffe suffering Jane the queen of love New house of the pope all my ghosts cactus Everything is new Abstact plain solid gold veloria I love your brain horrible day
caribou nadine
Encore: Dirty old Town I need peace Fare Thee Well
There were others that I've missed. They may have played Bad Harmony, and I want rock and roll, as well.
Joe and Dave McC had their Huggybear-esque flat caps on. As they took to the stage some pillock shouted "Play Monkey gone to Heaven", which Frank took in his stride replying "yes, I've heard thats quite a good tune". Other highlights, A crowd surfer, Getting a T-Shirt, Dave's cap slipping over his eyes so he had to tilt his head back to see anything, everyone singing "Dirty old Town" along with Frank.
All in all a brilliant, if a little overdue return to the Granite City for FB.

You must have been right next to me, maybe a little to the right and a row forward from me. Did you see the dumb-ass fight break out? I was the lumbering oaf who broke it up!
They rocked a *lot* harder and louder than last night, especially towards the end. Billy Radcliffe was a treat! That last song was Fare Thee Well, and I Need Peace was one of the 3 encore songs.
(They didn't do Bad Harmony, and I don't recall them playing Massif Centrale at Aberdeen, as I'm sure I'd have noticed it; Massif got played @ Edinburgh though.)

Your right he didn't play that, brains in a bit of a blur right now. The fight was literally right behind me, myself and the girl next to me got the security blokes attention, pointed behind us and mouthed "Fight!".

Sharkey, you said you somehow ended up right at the barrier -- did you get there near the front and have a look of surprise? A sorta big guy with a little pony tail kinda thing?

Yep DruggedBunny that was me! I was planning on staying in the second row then the 2 serafin fans moved and it was too good an opportunity to miss. My ribs are sore today after getting slammed into the barrier when the fight started

Ha! Cool -- I was literally right next to you, maybe one or two away now and then; you shot that look of surprise right at me near the start when you got into the front... I was kicking myself that I didn't spot that gap open up! Bastard! :)

I was so pleased when he played Robert Onion at the Glasgow gig...felt there was many at the front though who didn't really know his stuff |
