It looks dumb, seems to me like a bunch of hipsters who listen to the pixies because there favorite emo bands always reference them in interviews. Too many pictures and avatars and annoying smileys. BAH!

Agreed...at least what I read in the "What was your first introduction to..." department, it consisted -almost completely- of totally unpalettable tween-babble. No offense to the kiddies, I mean, it's great there's a resurgence in interest, and maybe the generation won't be lost after all, but I couldn't go back there if you paid me.
Chris K. - I listened to your song "Fortune" - and really enjoyed it. Reminded me of a few things, at first I thought, umm, ThrowingMuses/Krisitn Hirsch (intro)? No, Jesus Lizard (bass, then guitar)? Primus? No! Wire!! You ever listened to any Wire? Legendary Pink Dots? If not you may really like them. Then again, I also hear some Louisville/Chicago influences. Maybe this a bunch of crack-headed nonsense.
I'm not saying it's derivative, just has a lot of the same vibe...that's a pretty good lineup in my eyes, for what it's worth. Love the break at the end - that's where I think of getting out my old Wire albums - super bass funky bouncing going on. When you going to release something? I'll buy it.

im not too keen on the layout to be honest, the colours etc. But it is nice to have another pixies related messageboard. i think i'll sign up when it gets going a bit more.

Hmm...I am from the pixies board, and we dont wanna fight with anyone.
About the layouts, we do plan on adding more in the future and such, we just started a week ago. We are far from emo hipsters. And you are all welcome to post there if you like. I am not here to start anything. Just here to clarify things. Nice board you have here though. And I will be on my merry way, because I have a feeling I will be flamed for this here post.
But anyways, thanks for the promotion thing Dave Noisy, and we will add a link to your site on our main page also. |

Muses, Jesus Lizard, Wire... I'm flattered to say the least. All the producer I recorded the song with could muster up in comment was "I think you created a new style" or something ridiculous like that. The Muses, next to Frank, are my biggest influence by far, though you wouldn't necessarily hear that in my other songs; the Chicago sound (for lack of a more generic term, heh) is also leaking into my playing as of late. Anyway, I'm working on an album right now, and could totally put you on a mailing list so you're guaranteed to know when it's finished. Just send me an email.
