...The Sugarcubes "Here Today, Tomarrow Next Week". They put out a remix album; I wish I could buy a remix album where that guy was edited out. But anyway, on this album he's not as annoying. A lot of the songs on this album remind me of the Pixies, especially NAIL, SHOOT HIM, HOT MEAT, and HEY. |

I disagree. The non-existant Pixies album, before they broke up, was confirmed to be a record containing only Clash covers. |

El Barto giving The Swimmer a good pounding, or vice versa (as not one to take sides).

You really need to shut up about the whole Swimmer/El Barto thing. It ended 2 days ago now and it's even less funny than the not funny it was when it was happening.

I think the next pixies album wouldn't sound like anything we'd expect, as none of them sounded like that when they appeared in sequence.
One thing about the Pixies, I did think that "Come On Pilgrim" was a very amateurish album. (Yes, I KNOW it was their first.) But I think they just basically said "fuck it, we don't know how to play that well right now, but we're going to anyway." Which is commendable, because Surfer Rosa was somewhat better musically and then their subsequent albums all improved vastly. I am aware that many bands improve as time wears on, but the Pixies kinda sucked when they first started. But, I do love "Come On Pilgrim," as it is a prelude to the greatness that would follow.

Some songs do, IMO. I like "Ed is Dead," "I've Been Tired," and "Levitate Me" alot, and the version of "Vamos" off or COP is better than SR. I guess I'm just a bigger fan of anything beyond COP or SR, but I do like both of those.

This would be a good topic for the Pixies section. |

Apologies Swimmiepooes, this was a result of being very drunk, which I am sure you can understand.

I'd much rather see a Sugarcubes reunion than a Pixies reunion. Bjork's first album was great but I'm sick of all that techno shit she does now. And while we're at it let's get Siouxie and the Banshees to open up for them. |

I would love to see Siouxsie and the banshees live again but preferibly without having to torture my ears with Bjork...
It's still a good sign/by any standard |

When I shared a room with my younger brother, a metallica, megadeath fan then, he hated it when I played my Siouxie albums. One day we were watching beavis and butthead...they were watching the Peek-a-Boo video and said, "This is music for people with no friends". My brother had a good laugh over that cause it's so true. |

And I can see how you could find Bjork's singing annoying. I know a few people who can't stand her. |

True.Dark wave / Goth is not the kind of music that makes you new friends but i prefer being alone to socializing with people that listen to Bjork.I never understood the hype about her and though i tried to listen to her music more than once i only grew to hate more, specially after the horrible soundtrack of that lame movie she made.

I saw Bjork a couple of months ago at Roskilde..... don;t know much of her stuff and to be honest the stuff I have heard I don't really like but she was great live..... they had a huge fireworks display during her set and the firework noise was in with the beat of the song, which was pretty amazing. Pity that there were no drugs there though as that could have made it out of this world.

Yeah, but all I could get my hands on was weed (which I no longer smoke)..... seriously, we asked loads of people but everyone pretty much told us that drugs (other than weed) were pretty rare.
