We did, and I can't believe your husband got carwashed. That's a little scary/really, really hilarious.
It was a good musical, a lot of good songs and everything, I liked the theme of becoming whole and the track that went along with that one (The Origin of Love or something?). The allusion to the Berlin Wall being the rest of the world (torn but reunited) and leaving him alone torn was interesting in how they tied it in, and the ending where he finally becomes himself and stops hiding behind makeup and wigs fit that pretty well. Long story short, it was well done, and I'll definitely be checking out the tribute album.

It was hilarious, we were in the front and I think they can spot a squirmy one and then they pick on them. I'll never forget it though.
Did you catch Sook yin?
I think I like it better than Fiddler ;0 |

No, I've never liked MTV/Much and have no idea who she is/what she looks like. But Mike never said anything, so I'll assume he didn't either. So is Yanivsh (sp?) a dude or a girl or what? I'm-a-confused.
Better than Fiddler? :-}

A chick. My favourite part is the look on his face when he sees the Wall coming down on TV. Its like, do you understand what I did to get over here! Put it back up, put it back up! |

I missed Sook-Yin, I'm afraid. I forgot to look for her. And FBF, what I meant was, for Much, she was cool. Not cool as in actually cool, but cool as in "this beats the hell out of Rick the Temp".
Hedwig was pretty darn good. I liked the songs, and I'm looking forward to the tribute album, and the guy who played Hedwig was quite amazing.

Heh, yeah, that was a hilarious line. There were a lot of good things in there. The candy sequence was gold.

Zelda was eating gummi bears the other day, and Bob kept encouraging her say, "I feel so optimistic." It was hilarious. She had a Hedwig obsession when she was three and would play "Tear Me Down" over and over on the stereo until she had memorized it all. She could distinguish between the Broadway & movie soundtracks and would ask for each accordingly as Hedwig or New Hedwig. Where's the camcorder when you need it?

Thanks guys. I'll have to see if she'll do a reprise for me. Z's a lot of fun. She'll be five on Friday--I can't believe it!
Oh, one more cool bit of Hedwig trivia: the story that's the basis of the Origin of Love comes straight out of Plato's "Symposium." John Cameron Mitchell started w/that story & built Hedwig around it & the notion of someone who was searching for his/her other half. Nice, huh?

That was actually my favourite part of the whole thing was the lyrics for Origin of Love. I thought it was a really cool idea. Leave it to Plato.
Oh, and I can totally hear Frank covering Sugar Daddy. It started up and I said, yeah, this could be Catholicized nicely. I can't wait to hear it. I already have the pedal steel part I made up in my head in my head. Which is pretty much impossible not to do.

Aye, the song was *amazing* - generally i DETEST musicals (can't even stand the Muppets or stuff like Simpsons musicals), but this is one i really enjoyed.
I've got the Hedwig DVD on one of my HD's right now..need to encode it to something smaller tho..heh..
