Dear friends:
i open this topic to know how people came to pixies or Franks's music and what did they think first when they listened to their first song. In Spain we say: predicar con el ejemplo (Preach With Examples) so come on preachy preaches and do not molest me in the parking lot. It was the late 80īs i lived in an apartment downtown Vigo(Northwest Spain) where all the action was in the city. i had no TV and I did not miss it, there were goopd radio stations and one night i started listening 2Monkey gone to heaven and heard only the name of the band Pixies, my english was good enought to understand If man is 5 (x3) Then the devil is 6 (x4) And if the devil is six Then god is 7 (x3)
This monkey's gone to heaven (x4)
Not only by the sound but I inmediatly remebered my brief knowledge of Numerology and tarot, my nickname is not casual, there were no correspondence with the tradicional concpets related to these nomber but the idea was very good, 5 is the high priest (I think this can be translated so, it is also my number, i was born july 5th and the sum of al numbers of this date is 23 ( lucky number for the italians also) and 2+3=5 so you can notice how i identified with this song, 6 is teh number of love for books i have read and 7 is the number of perfection so i knew this guy knew the same than i did and teh had played with this to find his own correspondeces, all this was before the song ended, I relized how wicked was the guy that composed this song. to resume 5- man- high priest 6-devil-love (and sin also) 7-god- perfection
hey Frank are you reading this? i come from a jesuit school, which is your religious background? following frank all this years his a very gratifying experience, a man honest enough to record in two tracks, pou see his tour schedule and also humble to handle his own equipment sends a clear message: this is not plastic music, I will be in Madrid october 30th, it ha been a long way, but worth to be walked.
saludos david sevilla
