Ive just read Motley Crue - The Dirt.... which I would recommend to anyone whether they like the Crue or not.
This is probably not the best place to have a discussion about the Crue, but I cannot find a Crue discussion board so I'll do it here. If there are any Crue fans here then I want to know what you think of their 1993 self titled album, the one they did with John Corabi when they kicked Vince Neil out of the band.
Personally, I like the stuff they did with Vince Neil as he is the original frontman, but despite the album being a complete flop the Corabi album kicks serious arse..... and I cannot understand why it did really badly. I think that had the Crue changed their name and released it as a different band then things might have been different.... does anyone think the same?

They did some cracking tunes, but at the same time they did alot of crap...... I haven't heard any of their stuff since Neil joined the band after Corabi's departure.

I had pretty much all of the albums other than Too Fast For Love believe it or not. But I really want to get my friends to bring over maybe Decade of Decadence and the Corabi album when they visit in Oct. Have you heard any of their newer stuff?

| Not really, I pretty much stopped listening to them in the late 80s. We did have to watch Decade of Decadence in a sociology class on adolesence though. |

I checked out their latest albums on Amazonlast night..... they all get good write ups, but then again the reviews are mostly written by fans so I guess it could be a little misleading. I'm gonna have to get some of their early stuff to listen to again though.... cock rock, or no cock rock, they've done some classic songs.

Except the John Corabi album is a very good album which should have not been labelled as Motley Crue, then I am sure it would have done much much better as it is a blinder.....

Haven't been online for awhile and couldn't believe the Crue subject on this site. I gave up on them years ago, but I really did love them in the early to mid-'80s. "Too Fast For Love" and "Shout at the Devil" are the Crue at their best, I think. I saw them in '84 when I was about 12 and it was great. Still one of the funnest shows I've ever been to, and I've been to tons.
I've never heard the Corabi record, but I do remember the single and video from it. Kind of blusey, wasn't it? |

Some of the Corabi album was bluesy.... for people who are into Rock / Metal then I would recommend you buy this album as it sounds nothing like Motley Crue.
