You know what...I love Spoon, I listen to them like a bastard these days. But I don't know the names of their songs. I have "A Series of Sneaks", and two burnt CDs I got from a friend (most of "Telephono" and other songs as well).
I don't know what my point is...I guess I just want to start learning what these awesome songs are actually CALLED

Yeah, Spoon is tasty and I'm excited for their next album. I actually just got Telephono the other day and you can really see why people likened them to the Pixies. The first track is awesome, though I don't remember what it's called. As for A Series of Sneaks (SOS), I'd have to say that I'm surprised that Metal Detektor is your pick for today when it's surrounded by great songs like "June's Foreign Spell" and "Car Radio". And "30 Gallon Tank". And...
Yeah, Alex, you should definitely pick up these records. They're all worth owning. |

Metal Detektor is not my "pick" for today, it was in my head, thus it's my song of the day. If I really wanted to pick a song of the day, I'd probably go for something really obscure, to try and get people into stuff they might not have heard of. And to sound like I have a lot of indie cred. So, with that in mind, my song of the day:
Hrvatski - Vastep DSP
Tasty little bit of laptop glitch with some remixing done by that crazy Kid 606. Also, a melody (Gasp! a melody in glitch?) that really gets stuck in my head. |

Indeed they are Emily. It's from "Girls Can Tell" which is brilliant. Kill the Moonlight is also brilliant, as well as Series of Sneaks. You really can't go wrong with Spoon. "All the Pretty Girls Go To the City" sounds a LOT like Edwyn Collins "Never Met a Girl Like You Before". It's scary. Jessie, go and buy Series of Sneaks and Girls Can Tell. Emily, get all three. Save "Telephono", their first record, for when you're a big fan. |

Dammit, speedy m, that was all I had!!! I know very little of the music you list on this thread. Must've been living under a rock or something for the past few years.
Quantum nonlocality does not prove that "signals" travel "faster than light." Rather, it shows that at a deep level of reality the speed of light as a limiting factor is irrelevant because phenomena are instantaneously connected regardless of distance. |

Better to be living ON rock than under. Though quite frankly, Hrvatski sounds made up. :)
I'd definitely check out Spoon & Ween & the New Pornographers if I were you. It will be worth it. |

Weird Al's "I bought it on Ebay." I only heard a bit of it on NPR. It's a rip off of that song with the whiny lyric "I want it that way" and now it is stuck in my head. Hopefully I can get rid of it before it becomes permanent like Weird Al's "Just Eat It". |

Back into it:
Deerhoof - Dummy Discards a Heart
Ever feel like a dummy? I know I do. So I discarded my heart. Sing to the east! Sing to the west!
glacial my friend: that's what this here thread be for. Seek out the tastiness, I hope to discover many new tasties m'self! Maybe even Dayton, OH's own, "the Tasties". Oh wait, I already have "Lexo and the Leapers"... Oh well, perhaps I'll download some Richard Hell. His lo-fi punk will soothe my discarded heart. |

Another morning, another song.
Blonde Redhead - Bean
At times they sound like the Pixies, at times Sonic Youth, at times like a lounge version of either of those bands, but mostly they just sound like Blonde Redhead. This bass line gets in my head for days. |

I didn't know, but I'm thrilled to discover... :)
I have a casette player in my car as well as the entire Star Wars soundtrack on tape from '96 which I may have to put back in, but I have all this new music to go through first. Number one on the list is Ween's Mollusk, as I believe we are going to see them in E-town in Oct. |

Crazy. Well, if they're already sold out then I'm not sure that we'll be going. I told Mike to get his sister (who lives there) to pick us some up a couple weeks ago, but... are they sold out for sure? |
