Fuck, I meant this to appear in the General Chat forum. Maybe Dave or El Barto can move it there? |

OK, so the lack of interest among forum members is piercing. That's fine, I understand, I can't usually be bothered when people are promoting themselves. |

I'll bite, since you were nice about it. I require a certain amount of motivation to actually listen to someone's music. I'm listening to "Beatiful Day..." It's a good track. A bit lengthy, like you said. I really like the melody and instrumentation. I wish it would go somewhere, but the fact that it doesn't really doesn't bother me terribly. It's the kind of song that doesn't really have to. Reminds me of Radiohead. The melody definitely keeps me interested, and the fact that you capped the song off with the title lyric is really nice, well put...perfect ending if you ask me. I like it. It could really benefit from a better recording, though. Definitely dig it. Good job. I'll check your other stuff out.

Forum goers would probably be more inclined to check out your stuff if you described the style/genre and/or made a short list of similar artists. |

Thanks a lot for the effort. Well, the style is kinda lo-fi home recording 4 track something.
Really don't know about similar artists. My influences are, apart from the man himself, to name a very few; David Bowie, Radiohead (TB/OKC), The Beatles, The Kinks. Don't really sound like any of them or for that matter dare to liken myself to them. |

I can definitely account for your Radiohead influence. They're who I think of when I hear your music. Not to say you're ripping them off at all...it's a very similar sound. It's a good thing. I just noticed you're from Iceland. That's wild. The drum machine is a little turnoff tho. I guess you gotta do what you have to do.

Yeah, you're right, the drum machine is kinda shitty. It all comes down to funds, of course. But it almost goes the circle and becomes pleasurably shitty.
My other songs are different from the last one. Do not require as much patience, I think. But thanks again for taking the time. Much obliged. |
