No not really, but his CD's are! You know, I think I am the only one in the whole country that listens to him... If there are any challengers - prove it. I have been trying to find the coalition's makeshift Radio station 97.7 FM to add FB&C to the rotation. No luck, yet.
Today is my 3 month "celebration" here in the Middle East. I probably won't get back in time for the new CD's release date... Who knows? If anybody is feeling generous here is my email address: donald.beasley@bdab.aorcentaf.af.mil. After you email me I will send you my mailing address and you can send me letters, a copy of FB new CD or that Sunny something or another CD that everyone talks about, pictures (if you are an attractive female) or whatever strikes your fancy.

TOTIPOTENT,
I was in the air force for a while, and just want to wish you the best. I still don't know if I support the war, but I definitely support the people fighting it. Finish up and come home safe. |

Thanks for the replies, great people of the world! Sarah, The Quiz Mistress, sent me a copy of SSMVGD and SMYT. She is fucking awesome! I guess no one has challenged my isolation as being the only Frank Black fan, in Iraq. Just like many of you, I am not going to attempt to get FB&C on the radio here. I want the music all to myself. 97.7 can keep playing mainstream music. Actually, the music selection is not that bad and there are no commercials and annoying DJ's speaking. Oh yeah, I still have not received any pictures yet... (NOTE: see above message for request)

Dude I got your well appreciated package. I would have emailed you but recently one of our servers crashed and it lost all of my information. You are fucking awesome as well (including Sarah). Hey Derek, change Mel's title to 'Fucking Awesome!' While I am speaking to you, are you going to email me so I can email you my address so you can send me the fb.net tribute album 'You Ain't Me?'
Wow I started this thread a whole month ago, so I guess that today is my 4-month "celebration" here in the Middle East. I still have not received any emails to mail me some nice photos of you attractive women out there...

Dear brother-in-Frank: i am very sorry for you, socrates saod that is worst to commit an injustice than to suffer it. if you want to know what is goin on round you please visit www.irakwar.ru but be prepared this page is interactive so you can read some hard comments each time a g.i. dies. i am clearly against this war and my country is also involved in it, so i feel very ashamed jsuto let you know than a year ago some spanish oil companies contacted saddam in order to get some oil fron one of his oilfields. weel as soon as major operations ended and the oil extraction was restored, the second tanker to load stolen iraki oil was of one of this companies. business is business and moratily and other things are bullshit. please do not be so trigger happy. hpope you all go home inmediatly and a fair solution is reached. well for me saddam is a son of a bitch and i would have deteriorated his sons if i had a m-16 or kalashnikov at hand. remember a withdrawal on time is a victory said Napoleon.

I would think that a person at the scene has a little better idea of the realities of the situation than someone reading it on the internet. I'm against the war, but I wouldn't preach to someone with their butt on the line while I sit in my comfy little house. It was particularly unjust to start off by accusing him of practicing an injustice and later saying he is trigger happy. I doubt you have earned the right to make those accusations. |

Dear darwin: the first victim of the war is the truth,if you watch the media in your country you will notice from how they use the word to what do they tell io reccommend you teh same take a look at that web, read the news the articles, many of them come from your country. well if you can send me an e-mail i would tell you a stiry about how there is censorship even in internet. I would tell you also that even being 39 i would rather go to jail than participate in that, yoiu might think i am a yellow but i can tell you that san quentin or folsom are boy scout jamborees compared to spanish military prisons. and also the only thig I try is not to juzge anyone he is just doing what he is paid for. the olny thing i want is give him some light and if he avoids some rpgs he will return home safely he uis as innocent as the civilians around him. but the real guilty is the one who sent him there. i am nt going to keep nothing fo mysel i am open to any discussion

Dear darwin: well think my country officially has been involved in this war from the beggining, fortunately i have no car so i do not have to buy gas, altough the only oil that is getting out of irak is the one that sell the smugglers well you can imagine that when you fill your tank it comes also with a little blood. i will say i am acommie so you can also imagine how i think about all this matter.but time to time i check this web, almost daily, i repeat i am open to any discussion, but well when i check the casualities update of this web, where you find every death with name and age i stills see boys much younger than me and many hispanic names, i do not have to remind you where was your president absent without leave during vietnam. Well please before speaking read some news and you will probaly feel a little ashamed of how trigger happy are some of the coalition soldiers. well when i was 8 i was at a friensds home, we were playing, he was american a very nice boy, i still remember that day because when his daddy got home, you should had seen how he did. Diagnostic vietnam war veteran, and this is the slightest damage a war can do in your country when all your soldiers are back, and if you are honest and take a look at the web and analize some of the indformation will find out that you are in a quagmire, only think in the miles of pipelines, divide among soldiers and you will notice that not a drop of oil will leave irak. a pipeline is a very easy thing to be blown. yesterday i read a congressional medal bearer that renounced to it addressing the troops in irak. well someone that deserves a medal in any war is a very brave man but is as double as honest when turns down this honour for morality´s sake. this kind of people keeps the world's hope that USA can change.

That's a very arrogant attitude. How do you know how much news I read and how much I know? If you would pay attention to my replies, you would read that I am against the war. I have always been against the war. What I object to is you insulting a guy that you don't know who is sitting in harm's way while you surf the web and think you know the answers.

Dear friends-in-Frank: well i think i must apologize, think spanish are very diffrent of hispanic we look and talk straight maybe in english i can result a little rude, but all i want is get people to read, and if by your pressure on your goverment all american forces get out of irak and a fair solution for iraki people is reached, that is one of my goals, on my side i know whom to vote to overthrow spanish goverment that has involved us in this war also, and i will do my best, i think everybody hre live in democracies and democracies need that all the people feel concerned I repeat i want nobody to die, and the best saddam is the dead one, if USA quits now they still may have done a good job, but if they stay they will make clear that all was for oil.

Dear friends-in-frank: by my information there is no red light district in Baghdad, the only whores available where the petrified ones at Baghdad Museum, and as you will know, was looted when the americans entered the city. I think you can find one in the black market surely.Prostitutes of Babilon, as you will know are mentioned in the Bible and I am sure that one of this even petrified can give you a better time than any flesh and bone chick your money can buy. by my informatoin George W wants one of this stone girls to relax in his spare time in the White House, so there must be more US Troops looking for one of this jewels than looking for Saddam

I tend to be a lurker in forums lately, but I thought I would post today. I will probably crawl back under my rock when I am done! anyway... Totipotent, Let me just say for the record that I am completely thankful for guys like you who are willing to go and serve their country. I have seen alot of posters on here say that they either are not sure if they support the War, or that they outright are against the war. I don't like the fact that people die in war. Hell I don't like the fact the kittens get run over, or that flowers have to die, but that is the world that we live in. I truly believe that we are doing the right thing by being over there in Iraq despite the criticism we recieve. The world is not as safe or as pretty a place as we would all like to believe, and sometimes it takes a war to make it better. Well, I know that this is a Frank Black thread, not a political discussion thread, so I will Keep it mellow. I just wanted to tell you thanks personally. Keep up the good work. !Que Dios te cuide! el_chingon |

Hey El Chingon, kind of fluffy justification for war there. But I'll let it pass, even though (as you point out yourself) you are not risking your life. People like Totipotent are still daily risking their lives because of crap politics.
I'd also like to add that 2 of my friends are in the army, and they wouldn't be in the army if they had had the chance to do something else. But coming from Southwest Scotland opportunities can be kind of limited and being in the army is a pretty good interesting livelihood if the alternative is some shite job up toon. So this war is yet again the rich and powerful (Bush, Cheney et al - children of immense privilege) making themselves richer and more powerful at the expense of the working man. The new tsars, anyone?
And by the sounds of it, they don't even provide the dudes risking their lives with decent porn. If you want to send me your address I will send you a couple of well thumbed copies of Reader's Wives. Got my grandad through Dunkirk, that stuff did.

I am sure he is an honest and good man, brave enough to serve his country. But all who can avoid this only by registering and voting against the war are whom I want to make think more.

Astrology, what makes you so certain that the war is wrong? How do you think that you have the understanding and knowlege to make that judgement? I don't understand how people assume that they are smarter or more capable of making decisions than those with all the responsibility and information. What makes you (or anyone with less than adequate information) qualified to second guess and arm-chair-quarterback every political decision. I am not so cynical to believe every conspiracy theory and corruption charge that comes out of someone's mouth, and am not so naieve to believe that there are not other factors that play into any political situation. Whatever happened to faith (or Pong as long as we are still in a FB thread!) in the human spirit. Come on people, this guy was bad. Nothing was being done. It takes someone to make a tough (and apparrently unpopular) decision and do the right thing sometimes. Anyway, I don't think that totipotent meant to start a political debate. All he wants is to see some skin and hear some good tunes. So I apologize for the rant! Peace and hair grease to everyone. el_chingon |

Dear el chingon: you are hispanic and will understand me better cause i am spanish, war is very wrong, it is based on lies and it is all about oil, check www.irakwar.ru take a look at the news and the articles, just read and think for yourself. saddam is a son of a bitch but it was their son of a bitch and remember who put him there, and who stopped the troops in 1991 when they were only miles away from baghdad and all the iraki army was defeated, there was a revolt on and the rebels were left alone to be slaughtered in droves. well things are as they end and this is going to be very long

Astrology, we obviosly share a common belief: that Frank Black rules!!! but I have to say that I disagree with you on your outlook on the war. (I am a little embarrassed that I turned this into a war debate. <blush> Maybe we should just discuss music instead :) I really doubt that anything will be resolved by arguing on a message board.) Anyway... (on to more arguing 8) ) War is not wrong in ALL circumstances. There are times to fight. That website is not the first to say that the war is all about oil, I have heard that argument forever. You say that we should have left Saddam to Iraq? They have had him long enough without being able to remove him. What if the USA would have done the same with Hitler in WW2? If the troops pulled out in 91 only to finish the job now, then that is what it took to get the job done. I won't second-guess the decisions made by those that have access to all the information based on the little misguided postings of angry opponents to a war. It makes no sence to me to be able to help stop suffering, and yet do nothing. I feel that those who are against the war are unrealistic to what it really takes to keep the peace in the world.

Dear el chingo: remember whe the usa entered the WW2. well also one of the banks that financed hitler belonged to George W bush great grandfather, in fact the was sentenced and his money frozen until the 50's. not to say that osama bin laden father's got killed wuile visiting the Bushes ranch to make some business and it is told that this links remain until today. all these information can be found only clicking your mouse. please check http://www.fromthewilderness.com/ you might find interesting information about your country and ask yourself why do they have to have a mirror site and who is hacking these pages, this hacking maybe paid with your money. i was born and until 11 I lived in a dictatorship, it is a evry interesting experience because you learn very quicky to read between lines, not to rely on what they tell you,and to look for information by yourself. now the message is: Do you want oil? send us some cannon fodder, there are 1300 spanish soldiers in Irak and I have read tha today they had to dissolve a demonstration, this was as the killing of six british soldiers began. And tell me: in what kind of democracy a juzge can say: stop counting votes, the winner is. it looks more like the Oscars, is not it?. I am an active member fo the Spanish c¿Communist Party and in our last elections i had to check and sign the results of one electoral place, we had an average of 600 people pér ballot box and i can tell you that election closes at 8 p.m. and at 9:30 p.m all was counted and signed, note that in Spain the average percentage of people that vote is between 60-70 %, I have heard that in your country votes no more than 30% of the population. Ask any friend you have in the police what is the first question when they find somebody murdered, surely is : Who profit of this? you are lucky to have a computer the only thing you have to do is to ask yourself any question, look for answers, surely you will find more that you can expect

You've heard wrong.
In the 2000 election, approximately 51% of Americans eligible to vote did. 67% of Americans registered did vote.
Maybe you should take your own advice and use the internet (and google) to find facts. This same false claim has shown up in other forum discussions.

dear darwin: you have missed the main question, a juzge cant say: stopo counting votes, the winner is Mr. Bush, but it is more suspicious when the state governor in which this takes place is the winning candidate's brother. and here all votes are counted by hand one by one, and the average parties that can be voted is 7,and we have no butterflies flying around
