Hey guys, some asshole just stole my car stereo (right before a huge road trip too).
The thing is, they stole the console thing...the one that just pops out--and that's it. I have a CD changer in the back and a tape deck up front. Does anyone know how to replace this/or if its possible to replace? I have a Sony.
what is wrong with people. |

Whoa, sorry to hear that...how about car insurance? My whole car was stolen last summer...and I wasnt covered for theft. 
Anyways...last night I hop into my p.o.s. plymouth acclaim, and my cd player face drops out of my pocket just as I'm slamming the car door shut. The deck just falls perfectly in between the door and the car to get throughly bashed, then drops out into the city street about three inchs from the tires of a passing car. Luckly it still plays CDs, unfortunately, the display is just a LCD ooze of garbage.
I wonder if I can get a new face for the player?? Or would I have to replace the entire stereo?? Anyone??? |

sorry to hear about your tragedies guys.. i'm guessing the answer to both of your questions is: definitely check with the manufacturer about buying the separate parts you need. i would think they'd be available.. but if not, you can always try ebay..
i've had my speakers stolen before (not the stereo though).. i know what a shitty, violating feeling that is.
if if makes you feel any bettter, i got into a pretty bad car accident last week, and i'm only covered for liability.. (should be chalking up a nice 4 grand bill). which marks the second car accident i've been in within a year, also covered out of pocket. and to make matters better, my girlfriend and i are breaking up.. these things come in waves i guess.

| This weekend lightning blew out my satelitte receiver (pretty cheap) and maybe the dish (expensive). I guess I won't be watching much playoff basketball. |

People will steal anything!
I had a jalopy of a vehicle parked until pick-a-part gave me the big $75 for it. When they picked it up the equalizer was ripped out. I mean this thing was from 1970 probably, it was the size of my microwave. but the thief took it anyways, I hope they at least got a Big Mac for it.
The trick is to own a jalopy, then you can even leave the doors unlocked, people don't think there is anything worth stealing if your car looks shitty enough. |

| Hey Apostle, got me a Plymouth Acclaim! I used to have a much shittier Plymouth Caravelle, and I had it checked out cause the breaks just fucking stopped working (luckily I was parking in my driveway...fucking car). I hated that slut car and treated it like shit, so I just decided to junk it. Barely anything worked on that thing...one power window still functioned...um..it drove...that's about it. Everything was shit about it. So anyway, the driver side window didn't work and you could pretty much just push it down into the door with your hands...that, and it eventually just falls and opens, I dunno. Someone must have gotten into it while it was on the lot at the car place, cause I went to empty it out and the stereo was ripped out. Luckily all my tapes were still there (good thing they had bad taste). The joke's on them, cause the stereo hardly worked: the buttons only worked when you like, jabbed them 50 times, it ate tapes like mad...it was a piece. Oh well, people are dumb. |

I think all you gotta do is buy the face plate.
I doubt your warranty will cover theft.
To replace the face plate, enter your Sony model number here, and buy the EXACT part you need. |
