What non-Frank Black song would you most like to see the band Catholicize (if you get my drift)? |

Have the Catholics ever covered a Beatles song? Or Frank Black (post pixies) for that matter.

I say The Sound Of Silence by Paul Simon, or 500 Miles, I think he said he really liked that song in some interview. Both great songs. |

Bowie's Scary Monsters. He already knows the words, so that should be easy.

Oh! Darling by The Beatles. I read mr. Black took his first "singing" lesson screaming that one.

There's some great potential cover versions being suggested. I quite like the idea of a 'catholicised' "There Is A Light That Goes Out" by The Smiths. |

Actually I think that should be 'There Is A Light That Never Goes Out' by The Smiths (on the 'Hatful Of Hollow' album?). |

I'm not one for listening to covers, I rarely listen to Black Rider (either version as I don't consider it a Frank Black song).... but if I had to pick a song that I'd like FB&C to cover then it would be It Started with a Kiss by Hot Chocolate..... I reckon they might pull off a good version of Shaft as well.

I THINK THE CATHOLICS CAN PUT A FRESH SPIN TO LIMP BISCUIT'S "NOOKIE"....OTHERWISE, I'D LIKE TO HEAR THEM PLAY ANY COVER OF PERE UBU.

I'm with you on not being one to listen to covers. I like most of the covers though. I think I like the covers they did years ago like the Kinks, the Specials, Roxy Music... I also like "The Big Hurt" alot.
I'm not sure I'd want Frank to do an all cover album. With all the covers he has done in the past, you can compile them to make a full album anyway.

I wouldn't mind hearing their interpretation of Jimi Hendrix, maybe Purple Haze or Wind Cries Mary. Or perhaps something by the Hollies, the Searchers, or hell, even Peter and Gordon. I wonder what ever happened to the recording session where he covered the Stones, Reid Paley, Bob Dylan, etc. That would be GREAT to hear! Maybe they will see the light of day as b-sides one day. |

1. 'Smells like teen spirit'-Nirvana. It would remove guilt of remaining Nirvana members. Cobain would do a horizontal triple axel. 2. Anything off 'Let it Be' by the Replacements. 3. 'London calling' the Clash.

If they knew it, they should do "Speed your Bingo" by Pete Labonne. Though not very well known, he can sure rock the bone.
