Back at the beginning of April, Frank Black came here to E-town to a place called Reds. Anyways, according to tour dates, Frank had a little time off between the Calgary and Edmonton shows.
Not so! I just found out this weekend that he actually played another gig that same weekend at the Powerplant (a bar on our University Campus!
Damn.
So if you haven't seen him yet on this tour and he seems to have a day off in your area between gigs, think again! |

| See, that would upset me. I don't know why such things aren't at least brought to our attention here - you'd think that they'd want to let us know about such things. Although I guess that means they spent two days in Edmonton, which is pretty cool. |

| Guess you'll have to join myself & Speedy M (and probably many others) in petitioning Harris to make western Canada a regular destination for FB&C's. That way you can have a second crack at the pictures at least. And I recommend tailing their bus on their 'days off' so you never miss another secret concert again. :) |

| that's pretty cool though. Not that you missed the shows, but that other shows just happened. That kind of stuff happens in the jazz world all the time. Do you know about how the "extra" show came to be? |

I'm not sure how the extra show happened. Sure enough I was bragging about meeting FB at Reds when this chickateetah told me about the extra show so maybe all the university kids knew about it and I already finished school many years ago.
The coolest thing I think I saw is Frank Black taking down his own set. Talk about not selling out! |

| Apparently he's been showing up at little bars and just getting gigs on the spot...that's happened a few times in the past 2 or so months if I'm not mistaken. FB&TC still take down their set themselves. I believe they have one or two of their own sound guys, so they do have some extra hands in there, but not roadies in the traditional sense. |
