Ok, if you were to make a compilation CD for fellow Frank Black fans, what would you put on it? Here are some of the tunes/bands that I would pick:

Ween - Cold Blows the Wind
Ween - It's Gonna Be Alright
Ween - Stay Forever
Rolling Stones - Dead Flowers
Rolling Stones - Sway
Rolling Stones - Rocks Off
Bob Dylan - A Hard Rains A-Gonna Fall
Bob Dylan - Tangled Up In Blue
Bob Dylan - Stuck Outside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues
Simon & Garfunkel - Sparrow
Simon & Garfunkel - Kathy's Song
Simon & Garfunkel - A Poem On the Underground Wall
Hank Williams Sr. - Little Paper Boy (solo demo)
Hank Williams Sr. - At the First Fall of Snow (solo demo)
Hank Williams Sr. - Rock My Cradle Once Again (solo demo)
Iggy Pop - I Got Nothing
Iggy Pop - Johanna
Iggy Pop - Cry For Love
Ryan Adams - Winding Wheel
Ryan Adams - Hallelujah
Ryan Adams - Sweet Caroline

That's good for starters...I think most anyone into the newer FB stuff could like or at least appreciate the above...

A lot of other stuff I could mention such as Neil Young, or maybe some Whiskeytown stuff, but I'll wait and see what you guys/gals come up with....

What about Iggy Pop - I Wanna Be Your Dog...that song rocks like nothing else. "I Think I Smell A Rat" is one of my least favorite WS songs...something off De Stijl would be hot, since it's more bluesy/rockabilly which matches FB's current state a lot better.

Better put in some Tom Waits. "Come on Up to The House" or "Hold on" or something.

Yeah, definitely some Husker Du.....Celebrated Summer, Pink Turns to Blue, Games......damn, suffice it to say that most hardcore Frank fans would probably be very much into any Husker Du album. I know that Frank was very influenced by Husker....

You know Jacques Dutronc in the USA? I never thought he was known outside the french boundaries. I like your selection, matto.

Matthew & Son - Cat stevens
Wind cries Mary - Jimi Hendrix
Chain Gang - Sam Cooke

I can usually get most of those onto a C90, which is a complete bugger since I upgraded my walkman to personal minidisc!
