After a 3 hour drive i am home from the louisville show at Headliner's music hall.
This was my first frank black show and was so awesome. David Lovering's science skit was impressive, and when he was answering pixies questions, I asked him if he would sing the chorus to "la la love you" for us. YES that was me. I was also lucky enough to get the pickle that David lit up on stage, and got it signed as well.
But on to Frank, what an awesome show!!! I'm not gonna list all the songs they played, but it was a very roundet out show with lots of pixies covers and stuff from every album (except pistolero) :( Frank almost fell when they were leaving the stage, he tripped over one of the amps but he didnt fall. The people i was with thought it was funny but i did not. I felt sorry for poor Frank.
After the show we chatted to david lovering for a while and then headed out to frank's bus. He came out and signed autographs including my ticket and he wrote my name (dustin) and even called me by my name! I told him that he should come to frankblack.net more often and he just kinda laughed.
All in all a great time and i hope i can go see frank black and the catholics play again soon

What is the preferred way to preserve a signed pickle? Does one put it back in the brine?
Thanks for the review |

songs I remember... New house of the Pope (opener) manitoba there goes nadine beautiful day 666 Nimrod's son gouge away monkey gone to heaven holiday song where is my mind California bound End of miles Jane the queen Heloise All my ghosts velvety black rider cold heart of stone los angeles headache swimmer bullet hermaphroditos robert onion (encore) Sister isabelle (encore closer)
This is in no order. Also I am certain I forgot a couple songs. I also got an excellent recording of the show from 4 feet in front of the stage on DAT. Frank seemed "all business" tonight but when the show was over he seemed very pleasant and I got some real good "cheesy grin" pictures.
See you in Cincy and Indy Frank |

I was there also w/ my friend Lea. It truly was a good show, but it seemed one of the shortest I've seen. I was suprised at the amount of Pixies they did. I've never heard them do so many in one show. We stayed after and ended up talking with Rich. He was very chatty and I began to feel guilty about keeping him, since the rain was picking up. I had absolutely no nerve to speak to Frank, even though he was three feet away. Leave a workin' man alone. Maybe it will happen at the in store in Cinci.! |

Wasn't Headache the encore closer?
Got to talk to Dave McCaffrey after the show, which was cool because I'm a fan of both FB & The C's and Miracle Legion. (a band he was in that made its last album around the time of The Cult of Ray) It cleared up some of my curiosities about ML.
Got a hat, too! I hope they come back to Louisville soon, maybe do a two night stint next time. ;-)

P.S. I was the guy with a FB&TheC's and a U of L hat near the front near the stage stairs. |
