Hi, Hi
Well, most people here are from the US, and I'm really envious at those who meet each others in concerts and exchange emails and stuff. Except for my close friends, I don't know any FB fans. So I would love to talk to FB fans in ISrael, Belgium or the UK, and the world generally.
If this post doesn't make much sense, well, I'm really dead right now.
Anyway, I'm Omer, I'm 22. I finished my studies in Beligum, and right now I live in Israel. And Frank dedicated Skeleton Man to me once!

sometimes is hard to be a FB fan in South America. not all the records were released here and radio stations don't pay much attention to him. exception made to the college and other alternative stations - they always play a lot of frank's stuff.
i'm guilherme. 26 years [that makes me a first-generation pixies fan], never saw the pixies live, flew to chicago to see the man. i live in brazil. |

frank has nil coverage over here...not even sure of the new records have even reached here yet...i certainly haven't seen them in any of the record stores yet.... i always import my records...always billion times faster unless it's top 40 stuff....
tho i do remember seeing the headache video on tv in '94 before i knew who frank was.... thought it was crazy..... |

I'm from the UK - spend most time in London but live in Kent which can be a bitch if you're waiting for stoner friends to meet you esp. when then they decide to eat and then make you miss the encore coz they are too lazy to understand the underground system.
(Sorry, but I had to get that off my chest...)

welcome to the team omer!
its great to read the views of fans worldwide. i think i am the only irish FB fanatic to post on these pages so far - im sure there are plenty more out there. seen FB a few times over here (wish he would play more often) - the highlight being the Witnness festival last year in county meath. great show - and great response from the crowd! he was really nice to the crowd - and rich kicked ass (no pokemon T shirt though Leah! instead there was a rather cool red ensemble). what was also great was the two english lads who wore nun suits to the gig.
price of a nun suit - 21 sterling. look on my face when i nearly shat myself laughing - priceless.
cheers Barry

Wow, people responded!
Proverbial Cereal - I only know one soulwax song, Much Against Everyone's Advise. I used to have an album of theirs, but I left it in a Taxi in Romania (that cubbie was a lucky Fucker, he got my CD Player, 24 CDs including FB&TC, Death to the Pixies, Lou Reed's Perfect Night and Nick Cave's Live Seeds, plus a novel by Vernor Vinge). The really good Belgian band is Deus. I'm no huge fan. but they do some nice music.
Benji - I actually saw half of HEADACHE on MTV europe one night. It was obviously the best 2 minutes I ever saw on MTV (although a friend of mine taped the Ramones's I Wanna Be Sedated Video, which is just one of the coolest).
Leah - London is my favourite place in the Universe. I try to make sure I'll be there every 2-3 months, update my CD and book collection, and basically hang around. I saw Frank Black in the Camden Underworld in November 2000, and it was then he dedicated Skeleton Man to me (certainly a highlight to take to the grave with me:-). I also saw THE WHO there the following night.
I somehow very rarely seem to be making it out of London, though, except when I was to All Tomorrow's Parties festival in Cambersand (April 2001)

Im from Australia, and Frank is not well known at all here, although the Pixies were quite popular on the local alternative radio station.
One thing I did hear that was quite funny-on Channel V-which is the Aus. Pay TV music channel, an interviewer was asking people who they thought was the sexiest person in music, and this chick said: "It has to be Frank Black-or anyone from the Pixies"-I remember thinking that the teenyboppers that would make up most of the viewing audience would be going 'who the fuck is frank black'. Pretty funny.
Anyhow-I was still listening to Roxette and co. when Frank toured here in '94 so I am yet to see the great man.
For Benji: Go the Warriors!

Howdy! I'm from England, but currently living in Beijing.... Believe it or not I have got my hands on a couple of Pixies albums and a USA 93 Frank Black bootleg over here (even though I have them on cd at home and on MD here in the PR)... Ive also heard that theres a Pistolero bootleg flying around but unfortunately Ive yet to get my hands on that one....
Haven't as yet met any Chinese Frank Black fans, but there are plenty of Ex Pats who comment on my DITS t shirt. Managed to get my hands on DW and BLD a day before they were released in the UK. Not bad for a place ruled by a so called repressive regime.
Would love to see Frank pick up his guitar and play Tiannamen for a one off! The Chinese would love it!
This is probably the 10th time, but this is the coolest site on the net! By the way does anyone know any napster style programs, that let you copy to CD? |

I'm from Santiago, Chile. And I'm not the only FB fan around here, at least I have two more friends :)) and I know a lot of Pixies fans, they even got radio airplay, so they're quite known. It's hard to get his records tho, I've bought every single record thru the internet paying unbelievable prices, but it's been all worth it.

Hi, I'm French and Frank Black has a faithful audience here (did you know that the 95 black sessions were recorded for a french radio ?). I saw 3 Catholics shows and even met the man (he's really cool). I hope they will come back soon, visit my website for more information : http://thealiensarecatholic.free.fr |

Hello, from Norway. Frank Black's not big, but he's got a good reputation among the people i know. Thoroughly neglected in the media though. |
