I don't know if this is old hat, but I was just having an ole read of the of last weeks Sunday newspaper(Sunday Tribune) with a nice smoke and a couple of jars, as you do, when I came across an articale about bands and "groups" fee's. You can have the great Mr Beck for a princly sum of $78,000 and the man with the meat beats Mr David Holmes(yey!) for $3,000. The beautiful stalwarts of shite, Destiney's Child for a mere $250,000, the plastered one, Nelly for $100,000 and those ones who are actually any good Outkast for $75-100,000. Depending on your taste you can have James Brown for ¢50,000 or James Taylor for ¢60,000. But my money would go on having the great Sonic Youth or Public Enemy(minus one member!) for a handsome $20,000! But it is our lovely Mr Black who you could have playing in your front room (well maybe) for a mere $7-10,000! (discribed as indie God in the artical). Is that reasonable or what! But you can't put a price on art! The only reason I'm posting this is that I recently had a conversation with a fellow colleague of mine about pricing freelance work and just thought it was interesting. It i'll make George Lucas cream his pants, cream his pants.........
