The guys in my band want us to cover Take On Me. Question is, should I kill them all?

And it's not even the worst song of our setlist... Won't tell more cause it'd make you sick.

Yes, our name is stupid, people feel disgusted just saying it.
The receptionnist where we play hate to say it. and I don't even talk about our girlfriends.
We only have one song, wich is just for fun. We do covers.
Our covers (some have heard them on Soulseek):
Back To Rome
Dog Gone
Massif Central(e)
Highway to hell
Andres (L7)
Louie Louie (iggy version)
Lola (Kinks)
Molly's chamber (Kings of Leon)
All my loving (Beatles)

So do you know somone ok for that?
Don't be ashame denis, tell us what you play. (Sardou? Goldman? Bob Marley?)

I know this feeling...

I've heard it. Actually I have it on my PC and play it sometimes cause it drives my wife mad.

Me... except I don't play bass.

Please no gross words on this forum...
The band started before I joined it, and they play a N*ck*lb*ck song and... De Palmas. They even dared to ask me if I could play these too. Fuck them.
The rest of the setlist isn't as awful cause I try to keep my dignity. So far we've played a bunch of Pixies songs, SSMVGD, Weezer's Undone, and the GTO theme song (in japanese). Next songs will be Bowie's Ziggy Stardust, Jet's Are You Gonna Be My Girl, Sloy's Pop, FB's All My Ghosts, Bryan Fucking Adams' Summer Of 69 (sigh), FF's Take Me Out, and I'm trying to make them play some Jonny Polonsky, Hüsker Dü's cover of Sunshine Superman, Vapors' Turning Japanese and Kim Deal's version of You Sexy Thing.

Cool choices, I see you had to use your gun! Nickelchrome...beuuuh. Sloy, fun.
To choose the song it's easier for me: "I won't sing this one." héhé.
Our song:My GF, she's so embarassed. She can't figure it's me singing and don't know where to hide everytime I play it.
Denis you could learn.

Back to topic: I had a james bond game on Amstrad and the music was a CPC6128 transcription of Ah-A's theme.

How would I go about posting it?

There were a few good songs on the last two Aha records. My favorite song remains Manhattan Skyline from one of their albums from way back in the eighties.

I think all the forum members who make music should share their stuff, I enjoyed Remig and his band's covers. Apl once started a thread for members to share their creative work. Why did it last so short?

my wife went and saw them like 2 years ago in London. she said it was an absolutely fabulous concert with middle aged women dancing in the aisles.
she bought this great t-shirt as well, which everyone laughs at, but secretly wishes they owned.

Yes, the video for Take On Me is pretty cool. Has anyone seen the Ken Russell flick Altered States? I've always felt the end of the
A-Ha video owes it's idea to the end of Russell's film. Also, I think the best song of that album (Hunting High and Low) is The Sun Always Shines On TV. Really, really dramatic and cheesey! Ah, my youth!

'The Sun Always Shines On T.V' is twice as good as 'Take Me On'.

Oh and Broken Face? I think you'll find that '99 Red Balloons' was the best pop song of the 80's.

This was a break through video at the time. Plus I had a little crush on the lead singer.

Vilainde I haven't heard your band so I don't know if it fits, but I could see a punk rock version of the song as cool but different.

Yodeling, shrieking Swedes (or Scandanavian) with a video in which the singer falls for a drawing that's being chased by guys on motorcycles. You've probably blocked it out to protect your sanity.

Do you remember George Micheal prancing around in neon short shorts while with Wham? There's pure 80s pop bliss.

GD you Monsieur. Since yesterday I haven't been able to get this song out of my head and what's worse, the only lyrics I really know are, "take on me," "take me on" and "lalalalaEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE," which I don't even think is a real lyric. It's like a haunted broken-record in my head.

there influence will always be around.

Take on me is i think the catchiest song ever written, and i think its making a little come back, i hear it everywhere these days, in restaurents/bars/radio/tv all these people i know comming out of the wood work saying they love that song. Its funny cause A-ha, after the shoke wave of TAke on me was over, a-ha was ignored in north america for the most part, kinda like the pixies, and i think the only reason they had so much success was because of that great music video, and to this day not much has changed, its seems that music videos are more important then the music itself in the USA, Europe i think is different, because A-ha tours in Europe and has success, where as in north america u woudlnt c the same responce at all. Damn MTV
