Now, I know you crazy yanks have ClearChannel trouble, but do you people ever listen to the radio?
I used to listen to Xfm quite a bit but I'm disillusioned now - the night-time schedules are cool, but the daytime is bland, playlisted repeats.
What I like now is Resonance 104.4 FM in London, www.resonancefm.com. I would imagine a number of you (particularly apl) would enjoy this.

That sounds pretty cool Darwin. I see they're sponsoring M83's tour, I'd recommend that one.
I'm now listening to Can, and in the half hour tonight we've had Devendra Banhart and LCD Soundsystem. The show was curated by The Wire magazine.

Hmm, sounds interesting, Cheesy. As for me, I hardly ever listen to music radio. It's either our local NPR affiliate (news and talk) or Air America (brand new liberal radio station!), then a local conservative/right wing AM station for talk after 7. I am always listening to the radio as background, unless I'm playing my own music, because of the $^#%# ringing in my ears.
Sometimes I listen to 101.1 CD101 FM http://www.cd101.com/ when they're doing an indie or local show, or have a decent guest dj (like Jello Biafra a few months ago).
The "almost killed myself slipping in the shower rushing to turn it off" factor is pretty high with that station though -they sneak in so much crap right after a great song. Crap that you are willing to chew off your own foot to make it stop. |

we wake up to XFM cause thats the best breakfast show we've found. at work we have Magic 105.4FM which is horrible dirge (UB40 have just finished), but thats ok cause we're trying to win the "mystery voices" competition - up to £10,400 so far, but man is it hard...Dido is one, but who are the other 2?!?!

Sucker, Benji. I have the power over the music now, and we're up to M in our musical alphabet game. We're going alphabetically through our record collections day by day - today included M83, Mogwai, My Bloody Valentine, Me First & The Gimme Gimmes, Curtis Mayfield, Joni Mitchell and Madonna.
I think the office would go properly nuts if I tried putting Resonance FM on, I might have a revolution on my hands.
