Hi Mereubu and everyone else, I may have overlooked these, but what about "I Can't Forget", "Born in Chicago", and "Fight With Honor", are these three authentic, the real deal, pre-pixies? Thanks.

It is not, no. It is by Chris Morris (http://chilled.cream.org/forums/portal.php) go here for more info on this man.

This still needs changing.

To what?

Also, Brian brought up the point that we should have a "How do I contact Frank Black?" in the FAQ...

Motherbanger was done by Chris Morris. The parody on "Liam Lynch's Fake Songs" is called "Fake Pixies Song:Colleen"

Sorry about the pointless "what album do I get" thread. I read the FAQs when I joined but forgot about that all-so-relevant second to last one. Thanks

I know this post was a long time ago, but I also got 'Black Stool Acoustic' (absolutely horrendous title!) and I was curious if anyone had any more information about this performance?

Regarding the topic of recommending albums to people: It has been said that recommending Catholics records is harder than recommending Frank Solo records. No it isn't.

Yeah, you're crazy. Dog in the Sand would be my choice, for example. :) But it's a close call.

We're probably going to redo this FAQ section entirely, just need someone interested in it.

Nope, you want it to look like this:
http:// ... [ /i]

Except remove the spaces in those tags. Square brackets only, GT/LT doesn't work.

The FAQ says:

"50-99 posts = 1 white kitty head + =Cult of Ray= status
100-499 posts = 2 yellow kitty heads + *Dog in the Sand* status
500-999 posts = 3 orange kitty heads + >Teenager of the Year< status
1000+ posts = 4 green kitty heads + >>Denizen of the Citizens Band<<"

but someone on another thread said they traded kitties for bees recently, and the post count/status changed. I think it was in the "Anger Vent" thread.

OK, I'm now actively looking for someone to completely overhaul this FAQ. Such a person will be given a title and our collective gratitude. There are a lot of new questions that people would ask and some old ones that they may not anymore, and I'd really like to update this. Anybody interested?

Yup, it's pretty rare these days. Brian and I bought up a bunch to give away on the podcast once upon a time, and that wasn't cheap either...

Ziggy, email sent, have you got it?

I would still say teenager of the year. but you have to give it about 6 listens and then put it down for about 6 months. and then do that over and over until you realize it's one of the greatest albums of all time.

All right then, here are two of the topics that seem to get resurrected quite often:

1. "What are the lyrics to Where Is My Mind"?

2. "I'm new to Frank Black, which album should I get first?" or "I already have this album or that, which one do you recommend I should get next?"

I realize neither of these have simple answers, but:

1. (I'm quoting myself here): I think the conclusion was that Frank either forgot or wouldn't tell anybody what the original words were. They seem to change through time.
For further reading:

http://forum.frankblack.net/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=11124

2. There is obviously no subjective answer to this one, but I think it's still a very different question from "what is your favourite album". And some answers are given more often than others, for example:
- Buy them all.
- Get them in chronological order. thankyou!! I totally agree!!
- Generally the most common and quite unanimous suggestion: GET TOTY
- For Frank Black solo: TOTY
- For FB & the Catholics: This is a bit more complicated. I think the most common answers are Dog In the Sand and Show Me Your Tears, but there seems to be plenty of disagreement about his one. those are awesome butt Black letter days is my fave!!

Hope that helps!
