Well this is odd...
" The Boston Music Awards will be formatted differently this year, with only industry insiders being invited to attend the event at Avalon on September 29th. The doors will open for live performances later in the evening, and very few tickets will be offered to the public. "

SO....if the Pixies aren't currently signed to a label, why would the industry insiders wanna give awards to them?

The mission of the Boston Music Awards is to celebrate the wonderful music that is produced by artists with strong ties to the Boston-area.

Although they started out a 'Boston band' I would hardly say they have strong Boston area ties anymore. Maybe if this where the California Music Awards. I find it weird they are listed.

Here are the catagories they are in

Act of the Year
Aerosmith
Dropkick Murphys
Fountains of Wayne
Godsmack
Guster
Howie Day
The Pixies

Song of the Year
Dropkick Murphys (The Broken Glass)
Fountains of Wayne (Stacy's Mom)
Guster (Amsterdam)
Howie Day (Perfect Time of Day)
Mission of Burma (Dirt)
The Pixies (Bam Thwok)

I like Guster. But to quote the Hammerman, "You can't touch this" when it comes to the Pixies. (No I am not a M.C. Hammer fan :) just being cheezy)

Vote Pixies/Bam Thwok BMA's 2004!
