Well... i got it cranked... on continuous play...I can't wait to finish this post so I can throw myself against the wall. Ok.. personally I love it... the vocals, basss... drums.. changes in lyrics and Joey's gutair solo f'ing rocks!!!! Do I want to hear it live.... hells ya! Since it is the middle of the afternoon here... I am going to keep cranking it! I think she's getting a little upset becasue she's walking extra hard and I can hear her footsteps.... just wait till I start screaming along...but I don't care... it's the Pixies! |

lots of posts abt. how it's not really the pixies sound...whadya mean??? This song totally rocks!! Why do you want all the new pixies stuff to sound like Surfer Rosa or Bossanova???
They are working as a unit here, man! Sounds like they're moving toward an actual record--whatever that takes: more Kim singing (which I love, btw), more feedback from Joe (which I love, btw), more screamin' from Frank (which, well, you know) or whatever--GO with it!!! DIG it!!! CRANK it!!!

| I really dig this song, but I don't see how you guys can say "It's so pixies"...I don't hear it. Frank just can't scream like he used to (he can scream alright, but not like he used to), Joeys guitar style is just not there. I dunno, I really do dig it, but it aint very pixies. |

Hey you know what, every Pixies album sounds different (maybe with the exeption of COP & SR). If this is the soud of the new Pixies album, then so be it, since it's just so awesomly great. If a band makes a new album it's suppose to sound a bit different, otherwise it's just crap and waste of money. I mean, for someone who's been listening to Surfer Rosa for years and hears Bossanova for the firts time, I bet it doesn't sound one bit like the Pixies to him, and I think we all agree Bossaanova deffinitely is a Pixies album.
Anyway wow what a great song, they still have it in them! Now all we have to do is to make FB write some new Pixies songs (and sing them as well), and we've got ourselves another album of the year!

This is a good song and everything but I really think a lot of people are still in a "Bam Thwock" state of mind. So, compared to Bam Thwock...Yes, this song kicks ass! But, if you compare it to other Pixies songs...it's just not too incredibly great. I think it's nostalgia kicking in for a lot of people..
Also, just because some of us don't particularly love "Bam Thwok" or "It Ain't That Pretty At All"..it doesn't mean that we aren't Pixies fans or are crazy. Really. Elitism isn't very cool..

Maybe there were no chances for a disappointment, but I was terrified about it (I must say when I saw them live I changed my mind).
My job can't make me feel sad. A girl can only do it for a while. But a bad Pixies album could destroy me.

In my opinion , Pixies will never make a bad album...Frank would never do that...That´s why I like his music so much...He´s consistent! (don´t know if this is the right word for what I´m trying to say)

Alot of people sait tromp le monde was a bad pixies album, that if it had been done by any other band it would have been excellent but because it was don by the pixies it was a dissapointment..
Of course it's going to sound different, there's a hell of a lot of water under the old bridge now, they are all different people, it ill be different, I am not sure there will even be a new pixies album, but f there is one there's no way I will compare it to the earlier stuff because it'll be two different pixies

I really like this new song. I especially love the bit where Joey plays at the start and Frank says, "Yeah I done that too".

This new single has spirit, and that just shows they can still do it right. I think it's very promising. It's not a real Pixies song, because Frank Black didn't write it. To get a real Pixies song, Frank Black has to write it and he has to keep in mind that he is writing a Pixies song. I'm not saying that FB solo songs are not as good as the Pixies ones, but they are different. Anyway, I'm sure he's well aware of that.
Anyway, that's just wishful thinking. Probably there'll never be another Pixies album. And I understand that a lot of you just want the Catholics back, but give us a break - we've been waiting for this reunion for years, and it's probably not gonna last long anyway. You'll get your Frank Black back, no worries

I'm convinced they'll be back kathryn, the reunion is a way to make spondoolies and make the fans happy all at the same time, I reckon at least a couple of them will comfortably retire after the reunion is over, but for FB I'm convinced it's more to do with making music than making money
