It's great as cover versions go, but it's not a true Pixies song.

I don't think I've ever heard the original, but I can definitely imagine Warren Zevon singing it.

fan-flipping-tastic is all i can say!
what's with kim doing so many vocals? i like it, it's good on b-sides and the odd album track, but i hope if they're doing a new album it's more frank less kim on vocals, just my opinion!

Maybe Kim insisted on being more prominent in the band if they got back together.

frank has always screamed, just not as often, or quite as loud. but recent examples off the top of my head the song on the gordan gano album 'run' has quite possibly the maddest/loudest/most shouty vocals ever... and the take what you want cover...

here are the original lyrics. (they've made some cool modifications)
Ain't That Pretty at All Lyrics
written by Leroy P. Marinell & Warren Zevon 1982 Tiny Tunes (ASCAP) & Zevon Music (BMI)
Well, I've seen all there is to see And I've heard all they have to say I've done everything I wanted to do . . . I've done that too And it ain't that pretty at all Ain't that pretty at all So I'm going to hurl myself against the wall 'Cause I'd rather feel bad than not feel anything at all
You know, I just had a short vacation, Roy (Jordon)
Spent it getting a root canal (Going down the Erie Love Canal) "Oh, how'd you like it?" (Kimmy) Well, it ain't that pretty at all So I'm going to hurl myself against the wall 'Cause I'd rather feel bad than not feel anything at all
Gonna get a good running start and throw myself at the wall as hard as I can man (Oh, here I come- huge scream)
I've been to Paris And it ain't that pretty at all I've been to Rome Guess what? (I'm gonna throw myself against the wall down at the Louvre Museum in Paris France)
I'd like to go back to Paris someday and visit the Louvre Museum Get a good running start and hurl myself at the wall Going to hurl myself against the wall 'Cause I'd rather feel bad than feel nothing at all And it ain't that pretty at all Ain't that pretty at all
I wonder why Kim refers to Frank as Jordon in the song?
i'm guessing it's a reference to warren's son.

I agree, I think maybe thats what Kim insisted. I love her voice, but the pixies voice is Frank. Lets hope if there is a new album that this is not a trend. Good Song though!

Wow! first impression the gutair effects sounds nothing like the Pixies, then Frank starts singings and it's like wow! it's Frank! and then Kim starts singing and it's like wow! it's the Pixies!. Like Bumblebeeboy2 said Franks always been screaming, but not like "my manta rays alright"! style, which I love on this song. Still dosn't sound like a true Pixies song but great listining none the else!

Nice one! Thanks for sharing tobafett.
Daisy Girl - right-click on the link and "save as...", there's no reason why it shouldn't work. Also suppress the hyphen at the end of the filename.

I too like the "how'd you like it, Kimmy" and the whole sound of it, but does anyone else think Frank comes off as a bit too clownish in parts? |

I'm not down on it by any means. In fact, I'm down WITH it--it makes me dance around the room when I hear it. I was just throwing out a thought that occurred to me. |

I´ve been listening without stop and , maybe it´s just me, but when Frank sings it looks much more like his solo stuff than the Pixies. But maybe it´s just me or maybe I haven´t listened enough. |
