Just read the exciting news that you're expecting in Spin magazine.
We are very excited about this great news for you two! Congratulations!

Congrats to Frank & Violet. My wife and I are also expecting our first. I'm excited and scared at the same time. If the unconfirmed December Pittsburgh show happens, me and my wife will be there, and that will be the baby's first musical exposure. (Question: My wife will be about
5 1/2 months along then. Does anyone know if loud music could be dangerous to the baby? Serious question.) |

Hey everyone... Kathryn and I have been chatting off forum and we would like to turn this into a virtual baby shower. We promise... no embarassing games!!!
In addition to your congratulations and well-wishes please feel free to post poetry, lyrics, photos, art, quotes, jokes, blesssings and/or any advise you may have to the fab couple. Also please feel free to post any other cool things we didn't come up with!

Congratulations and many blessings upon thee! May you have lots of leisure to enjoy your little one. Kids are the best, hands down. I literally can't remember how I used to function before my daughter arrived to make me laugh all day long, and I don't want to.
TameReg, Kristen Hersh has toured pregnant many times now (and I think she has at least 4 kids) and no harm done there; fetuses are pretty well insulated. Have a great time at the show. |

What's a 'baby shower'? Is it an American thing? It sounds a bit like a freak weather condition from the Old Testament. Will FB need an umbrella?

I have yet to hear of a baby shower where the dads are invited (not that any in their right mind would go!), that's interesting. Is that common where you live, kathryn?
Although I've written congratulations elsewhere, I'll say it again... congratulations to you both and I'm pleased as punch (yes, you heard me) that there is a CT5 en route.

Dad's are almost always invited to the baby showers we have for my friends. Actually, I can't think of an instance when they haven't been. It's both parents baby, I definetly think the daddy should be included.
Anyway, Happy Daddy-hood, Frank! I betcha you'll be an awesome dad.

Interesting... around these here parts, they're female-only gatherings (the father is expected not to be around) and have a bit of mystery surrounding them. Presumably it's also a gossip fest, but that's only speculation.

I went to 'our' baby shower. Yes, I was the only guy...yes it was a little wierd, but I liked it...it think.
