Indeed it was.
It was also in that horrible scene from Boogie Nights, when Dirk Diggler and his buddy are...erm...."recording" in a studio. That shit cracks me up every single time |

Wow, what a funny thread! I love it! I always liked Dr. Dre and Snoop's "Nuthin but a G thang" when they say "Never let me slip cause if I slip than I'm slippin'". Was'nt that Shakespeare who originally said that?
And since no one is immune, yes even our own Frankus Blackus, how about in the "Modern Age".
Stop at a light in my car I ask the next car how they are They say that we are fine and how are you I say that I am fine and...thank you.
I know he's just talking about being simplistic in a modern and complex world but imagine someone just stumbling upon these lines after someone telling them what a great musician Frank is. Not exactly a lyrical miracle. |

That Was Then But This Is Now
Why make the past your sacred cow? I guess you've changed, you've changed and how Yeah, yeah, yeah Fruit's grown rotten on the bough Reap what you sow, with a counterfeit plough Yeah, yeah, yeah
That was then but this is now
More sacrifices than an Aztec priest Standing here straining at that leash All fall down Can't complain, musn't grumble Help yourself to another piece of apple crumble And consequently: Hearts of oak are charged and blistered Russians should be baby-sitted Americans enlisted
That was then but this is now That was then but this is now That was then but this is now
"Fried food, cigarettes, no exercise, chest pain..." (Excerpt from the Angina Monologues)
That is indeed a genius reference. Oh how I laughed.

Whoops, I just admitted to knowing anything by Busted. Bugger.
Umbongo, Umbongo, they drink it in the Congo
And again! Man I nearly wet my pants too!

In honor of the evolution thread, these lyrics make me want put my fist through the dash. Bullshit. I look at my son and I believe I have reproduced in accordance with the basic laws of human biology.
Live - "Heaven"
You don't need no friends get back your faith again you have the power to believe another dissident take back your evidence it has no power to decieve
I'll believe it when I see it, for myself
I don't need no one to tell me about heaven I look at my daughter, and I believe. I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth I can see the sunset and I perceive
I sit with them all night everything they say is right but in the morning they were wrong I'll be right by your side come hell or water high down any road you choose to roam
I'll believe it when I see it for myself
I don't need no one to tell me about heaven I look at my daughter, and I believe. I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth I can see the sunset and I perceive, yeah
darling, I believe, Oh Lord sometimes it's hard to breathe, Lord at the bottom of the sea, yeah yeah
I'll believe it when I see it for myself
I don't need no one to tell me about heaven I look at my daughter, and I believe. I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth I can see the sunset and I perceive
I don't need no one to tell me about heaven I look at my daughter, and I believe. I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth I can see the sunset I can see the sunset I can see the sunset I don't need no one Ohhhh I don't need no one I don't need no one I don't need no one To tell me about heaven I believe I believe it, yeah

Here's some classic lyrics from the great BJ Snowden. I can't make out some of the lyrics but I think you can get mp3s at www.bjsnowden.com
New Brunswick "Everyone is having fun, Everything is under the sun, In New Brunswick, New Brunswick,
Fifteen-hundred miles of shoreline, Great place to wine and dine, In New Brunswick, New Brunswick"
In Canada "The city's very clean you see, Their people welcome you and me, It is a home away from home, It's Canada, In Canada, In Canada, they'll treat you like a Queen, In Canada, they never will be mean, In Canada, they treat you like a king, You'll feel welcome, It makes you want to sing
You'll see West Everton Mall, Were (?) You'll see the ice rink glow, To the waterpark kids can go...
In Canada, la la da da da da In Canada, la dee dee dee dee dee..." |
