Does anybody else really like these guys? I never hear anyone talking about them but their Cedars album is just fantastic. Dark/funny for the most part and surprisingly introspective at the same time. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, check them out.

i'm not keen. i've seen them support a few bands over here (in fact they seem to support everyone!!!!!!), and i liked one or 2 of their songs but found the rest of their sets a bit samey or dull...
admittedly it was a good year or so ago i probably saw them last.
And it's hard to be a human being, and it's harder as anything else, and I'm lonesome when you're around, and I'm never lonesome when I'm by myself, and I miss you when you're around. |

Yeah, I think their new album is quite different than their old stuff (I heard Lido and wasn't a huge fan either). Also, I heard them live on KEXP and it was okay, but this record is amazing.
Songs like The Mind Is Evil, I'd Like To Hurt You, and Come Into the Darkness are three great songs (the latter being my latest fixation). I don't know if that helps you tell if you heard their latest stuff or not, but there it is.

no deano! no idea. reckon it was probably older stuff, i remember seeing them support stephen malkmus on his first album tour, so i guess it was over a year ago, maybe a couple of years back? no idea. but hey, i'll try and check out a song or two from their new stuff... or catch them when they next support someone i like over here, which seems to be quite often...
