Are any of you watching the Olympic Games? How come nobody talks about it? I enjoy watching sports on TV. Where the hell is Mun Chien?
Right now there will show the fencing finals (épée), and I am very fond of fencing.
So, is Laura Flessel going to be the champion again?

South Africa wins the 4 x 100 freestyle relay for men!
World record!
Everybody was talking Michael Phelps, Ian Thorpe and forgot all about the kids from South Africa.
Well done Roland Schoeman, Lyndon Ferns, Darian Townsend and Ryk Neethling.
Monsieur, did you watch the French girl win the 400 freestyle gold? Another French guy got broze in the 100 m backstroke too. Good stuff.
And about watching the Olympics. I've two weeks holiday now and I'm staying at home watching the Olympics.

I don't really like the Olympics that much. I much prefer the Winter Olympics.
When does the track 'n' field start?

Wow floop, waterpolo is one of my favorite sports. I am not very good though, but it sure is fun.
The guy who won the bronze is Dubosc, I believe. And the girl is really new, I don't remember her name. But the former French swimming star, Roxana Marecineanu, studied with me and she is a very very nice and cute girl.
I went to the swimming pool today and I was soo motivated that I swam 3 kilometers, which is quite hard for an occasional swimmer like me. Then I got home and heard in an interview that this girl was swimming 15 kilometers each day.

Went to the '96 Games in Atlanta.

Somewhat related...John Titor says these are the last Olympics...if this indeed happens, then John Titor may be real! Oddly enough, they're being held in Athens...the birthplace of the Olympics. When was the last time they were held there?

That girl's name is Laure Manaudou and she swims beautifullly. The commentators said it is the first female swimming gold for a French woman ever. Could it be?
The other highlight of yesterday was the Puerto Rican victory over the USA at basketball. The American team first bullied and then moaned themselves out of the match. There was this small Puerto Rican guy who played them to pieces.
The foxy Laura Flessel took silver in the end.
Swimming 3km is impressive Monsieur. I try to swim at least three times a week, a mile (1600m) each swim. Work prevents me from getting there often. This morning I did 2km though.

Did you see the opening ceremony? It was boring as hell. I was waiting for Björk to sing and nobody seemed to care about her.
Wilhelm, that French girl won the second gold medal for France in swimming in the history of the Olympics. She's swimming again today (100m backstrobe). Adnan, do you fence? I used to fence when I was a student, and I'd like to start again. I love fencing.

Oh man, you're right about the opening ceremony being dull. I didn't expect too much anyway. Bjork mimed her song and it was not a very good song too.
I've heard the bacstroke is actaully Manaudou's best event so she should perform well. The French are always good at the Olympics so I am not surprised to hear the commentators were wrong.

The last time that the modern Olympics were held in Athens was in the late 1800s, in 1890something. In Ancient Greece the site was Olympia, not to be confused with Mount Olympus or Olympus Mons, site of Frank's Bird Dream. And for what it's worth, I swim a mile a day and on the rare, bad days when I don't, bad things happen to my mood.
I still believe in the excellent joy of the Frank |

Unfortunately, I don't fence. When I was a little kid, I really liked fencing, but sometimes never got to practice fencing. However, I haven't lost all hope as you can fence even when you're older...

Floop, I dunno about having a nice physique but I do appreciate your saying that because now I have "I Love Your Brain" playing in my head.
I love it when you speak you’re so urbane.
About the Olympics: I cannot stand how corporate they've become in the States in the last few years (like every other thing here, I guess). It's difficult to watch the Olympiad on TV because it's overprocessed and stupid. I wish they'd just show the events without the ridiculous packaging of the athletes involved. I hope it's not so burdensome on the viewer in, say, Europe.
I still believe in the excellent joy of the Frank |

A good few swimmers here. I participate in open water swimming events, the Midmar mile being the main event which I always aim to participate in. I'm no record holder but I always finish in the top third of my age group.
Anyone want to race?

I'm not really interested in sports in general, so I don't think I'll be watching the Olympics, unless they just happen to be on somewhere where I happen to be. The whole concept seems sort of outdated nowadays anyway.

Hey, we don't have to race one another at the same place. All we need is to agree on a distance, take your time (I'm certain you'll all be honest about it) and we'll see who is the fastest.....
How about the quickest time over 1km?
