Don't mean to take away your steam Frog, but I just found this one. Type in: "miserable failure"
Not as funny as the other ones but thought I'd post it anyway. Does anyone know why all of these exist right now? How did you find yours Frog? I saw this one on someone's live journal.

stop being idiots. i'm feeling lucky returns the first result.
the reason it is the first result is probably due to this thing you can do. i'm not sure exactly, but something like if you create a webpage with miserable failure on it and link to a particular site, the more of them there are, the higher that website goes up the listing, or something like that. there have been several attempts to get things like the above happen. |

google uses spiders to search websties and get information on them. they go from website to website, following links. so the more links there are, i guess the more information is collected, the more popular it appears and the higher it goes. |

idiots? jeesh. I know that "I'm feeling lucky" returns the first site; apparently Google creates easter eggs like this for people to find.

Geez, someone's having a bad day...
You're going to tell me that a search for 'french military victories' really turns up 0 results and that 'french military defeats' obvious replacement?
There are Google Easter eggs, and even if there weren't, they're still amusing results...

I don't mean to be the devil's advocate, Dean...but if you look at the website that hosts the "french military victories" thing...it's:
http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/text/victories.html
It's awesome nonetheless.

The caption on the page PixieSteve mentioned says, "Bush has been the target of similar pranks before." Is that picture just above the caption the result of one of those pranks?
I mean, really, what kind of facial expression is that?

cult of frank.. nice funny things that are found with google, but all i'm saying is it has nothibng to do with google the team themselves. if a particular phrase is more common than another (ie. has been searched quite a few times, actually has results and is at least fairly similar) i'm pretty sure it learns and it will suggest it.
when people go around saying "omgz, look at this google funny!!!11" and people search it so much, it's inevitable something like this will happen.
infact i think i've created a suggestion all by myself. i was searching an obscure model number like 5KLJF4G-3GF34H89 and then after it searching the same but with no "-", it suggested my first try.
whatever. |
