Tim Franklin - "Hold Still" available now!
I wanted to let the forum know that my debut album "Hold Still" is finally finished! If you've enjoyed my fb.net covers of "I'll Be Blue", "Big Red", and "The Holiday Song" you'll like this too! You can check out samples of all ten songs and purchase the CD for $10 at http://www.memoryeffect.com/store.html.
I have a few collector's editions left from the first fifty made. All fifty were hand numbered and feature a unique one color CD design that won't be available on future pressings. Be sure to post a review and tell me what you think!
Thanks Fb.net! - Tim (Atheist4Catholics)

That's not because you've got 788 posts that you're allowed to make self promotion, dirty spammer!
Congratulations!
I'll listen to the samples as soon as I'll get home (Wednesday) Beautiful cover. |

By the name 'Tim Franklin', I was half expecting the songs to be rather tame and acoustic-y. You know, like 'Cass McCombs', et al....and the butterflies, perhaps.
It's good, I like it! I'm rather keen on the album cover too.

Tim also did mastering for our tribute albums in addition to contributing the aforementioned tracks.
I bought Tim's album hot off the press and though I haven't listened enough yet to post a review yet, I can overall say that it's the quality I would expect from Tim and more. Well done!
And if nothing else, I definitely recommend checking out the samples and seeing/hearing for yourselves.
Oh, and thanks for the shout out to FB.Net in the liner notes. :)

Yeah, I debated for a long time over whether or not to use a band name or my name. I had just joined The Memory Effect and thought it'd be weird to sell my CD at shows if it had another band's name on it. I do prefer the band asthetic over the solo performer asthetic which seems too egocentric for rock/pop music. Oh well, Frank pulls it off pretty well. Hopefully, the music will sell itself.

Yeah, but Frank doesn't use his real name. Would you be that interested in buying a Charles Thompson album, if you didn't know who he was?

I think my name has a bit more flair than Charles Thompson!
Maybe Chuck Thompson?
