It was recorded in 1994 and released on 'Brace Yourself - a tribute to Otis Blackwell' - produced by Jon Tiven, btw.

The album in question also featured a version of "Handyman" by FB. Not to mention "Hey Little Boy" by Chrissie Hynde & Chris Spedding, "Home In My Heart" by Paul Rodgers, "Paralyzed" by Graham Parker---I don't know if it's still in print, but we had a gas making it and it still sounds great to me ten years later. By the way, not to be a shameless plugger, but Ellis Hooks (who sings some backgrounds on HONEYCOMB) is playing a free concert in NYC Weds. August 4th at Madison Square Park (23rd & 5th) at 7 p.m., and his band features Billy Block who also plays drums on HONEYCOMB. Aside from the HONEYCOMB connection, he is a very worthy artist for all fans of non-cookie cutter music. Hope you can make it. best, Jon |

I don't think BY is still in print - it was already a rarity when I luckily found a copy of it 3-4 years ago.
Maybe I shouldn't say this, but [cough] I actually find 'Hey Little Boy' quite boring - though not as boring as 'Daddy Rolling Stone' by W. Deville. That said, most of the featured covers are really great - pure rock'n'roll, both in spirit and substance. Needless to say FB's contributions are among the best. :)
For those who don't know, Otis Blackwell died 2 years ago in Nashville, after a lengthy illness.

so 'breathless' was a cut from this comp. as well as 'handyman'? -and the handyman version from this release is different from the peel sessions disc?
-? i certainly don't know everything and this one i had not heard of. what popped into my head when i saw the title breathless was the movie which featured a Jerry Lee Lewis cover by L.A. band X.
