My only problem with this is that I think the government's gonna come out saying its bs cause they like covering up these things and they've always knew this but anyway it is very exciting and here's hoping that they find some aliens!!!! Damn that would be unbelievable :)

if you read any remotely reputable source (BBC News has a pretty good Sci/Tech department) you would know already what i said above. there has been no confirmation of life on mars, they just don't konw how the ammonia could exist without life.

it would actually just be an unnecessary risk to the vocal chords. considering that breathing is used to maintain life as it is, whether you speak or not, it cannot be wasted. you could however argue that it takes more energy to speak while breathing and thus would be a waste of energy.
