I don't know. But I wonder if some places changed the name of it to Freedom vanilla ice cream. Man, that shit was stupid. Remember Freedom Fries? Damn it, that shit was dumb. Next thing you know, we wouldn't be allowed to use those cool, lofty French buzz words like "faux" and "beau" and "rendezvous"

Regarding the edited subject title, I'm not saying opaque turned into bullshit patriotism and french words. The original title of the thread was "opaque" cuz I was trying to get her attention since it seemed she was the only other person on the forum at the moment. The b.s. patriotism and french words regards the direction the thread has taken, and I like that direction. It could be a good discussion.

The word "opaque" is derived from Latin. Just like a whole lot of other things. This pronunciation scheme is derived from Middle English, and yes French.
