Have I posted a topic on her already? Well, I don't care b/c I love her and many of you will love her too, I bet (if you don't already know her work) - here is a sample, and one of my favorites -
Oh, life is a glorious cycle of song, A medley of extemporanea; And love is a thing that can never go wrong; And I am Marie of Roumania.
You can read many of her poems here - http://www.americanpoems.com/poets/parker/
Check em out and don't hijack my thread, pretty please. Thank you.

Do you like American poems? I like American poems.
She earns points just for using extemporaneous. Well, a variation of it. One of the funniest moments in that Roxanne movie involved that word. It was the first time I ever heard it, too, so it's always connected to that film.
She also earns points for rhyming. Too many poets are afraid of rhyme, they feel it limits them. I feel it challenges me. My poems are always lyrics, so ya know, I gotsta rhyme. If it doesn't rhyme, it might as well just be me talking. Not a fan of free-verse.
Dean Ween, shortly before Brando died: "He's played Vito Corelone, Colonel Kurtz, and Stanley Kowalski all in one lifetime. What have you done?" |

My poems always rhyme too. I can never make it sound pretty if it doesn't rhyme. I think I have Ms. Parker to blame for that.

Ramona, since we're rhyming fools, we should start a rap group. We can rap all about Frank Black, the forum, the Pixies. It'll be a whole new style of rap. Franksta rap!
Do I look like a beautiful blonde with big tits and an ass that tastes like French vanilla ice cream? |
