What does that mean? "UK Surf". How does it describe that version of the song? I'm thinking it's a joke, but kids I really have not a clue. I'm swimming in a sea of ignorance here.

What do you think (or what do you know)?

Hmm...Well the guitar is quite surfy...but I don't know where the "UK" part came from.

I guess cos its really slow and chilled - a bit of a dig at our less than epic waves??

Presumably the whole "surf" thing comes from the "Wave" in "Wave of Mutilation" - and has sort of been applied to any slowed down Pixies song (mainly Gouge Away)

Are there any other "Uk Surf" versions of Pixies songs (does Nimrods Son count?) and are the Pale Boys tracks "UK Surf"...

I labeled my slow version of nimrod's UK surf.

'UK Surf' surely means its more of a UK surf sound than USA? Mor reminiscent of bands like the Shadows than USA stuff like Dick Dale.

well, it's obvious that the "surf" part of the name comes from the surfy sound of Joey's guitar, and I suppose the "UK" part comes either from (as mentioned above) that it's recorded in UK or that it was on a UK only single, or possibly both.

i always assumed, as said above that it was called UK surf because its real slow, like comparing UK waves to more exotic locations...

There are some live versions of the song (mainly Trompe era with EDF on keyboards) that are alot slower than normal a-la Wave of Mutilation
