Gypsy, please reconsider. Although no one at Sony etc. will go hungry if you don't see the new movie, you owe yourself the theater experience. The first movie had its problems, but all is forgiven with this one. It keeps the tone of the classic Silver Age stories and delivers on all levels. I'm one of those picky comic nerds and I heartily endorse Spiderman 2. I'll even buy your ticket (How much does a ticket cost over there?).

What comic book movies do you like?

I'm the guy from wonderland...& you will never understand...

i have mixed feelings about the CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY remake. that's one of those movies that there's really no reason to re-make it. it's timeless and perfect.

i'll be curious to see what Tim Burton does with it, but there's no way it will be better than the original. and look at what he did to PLANET OF THE APES

(hey, i'm allowed to go off topic since it's my topic, right?)

Well, when you put it that way...I guess he's O.K., I just get the feeling he recycles classic soundtrack composers (Bernard Herman definately), changing them slightly for his purposes.
And speaking of recycling it's a crying shame Son of Green Goblin is the baddie for Spiderman 3.

Saw it last night. Liked it better than the first. Can't wait for #3.

Predator rules. (they rule, they are a species, remember)

well, when you put it that way and don't follow through with sarcasm, I'm left really uncertain.

I thought spiderman 2 was rather vapid myself.
His aunt or whatever on the big "little boys need heroes" speech almost made me sick.

I think comic book movies generally freak me out a bit. I was never into comics...so the movies just kind of strike me as a bit too far-fetched.
I know - I missing the whole thing - the premise is lost on me.

I hate(d) Kiss too, so there.

Regarding the MJ thing, She's got a sopping wet donut for PP/Spiderman but HE can't commit. He's the fickle tease if anything, disappointing her and all that shit. It's just a wonder how many times can she be swept away by the baddie and held dangling over the East River before she decides it's too much of a health-risk to be with the guy.

You know she's just chasing after him because deep down inside, she has a sexual curiosity about what his cum shot is like....

I guess I just wasn't made for these times.

i haven't seen Spiderman2 and am not likely too either.
i thought the first one was pretty bad, with the only redeeming bit was when Kirsten Dunst's top got wet in the rain.
my wife and i saw this again as an in-flight movie and waited round just to see this scene and they had cut the nipple shot out!
we were astonished.

i am apprehensive about the whole alien vs predator movie - both individual movies are so goddam amazing that all i can see happening with the new one is complete disappointment.

i feel very similarly about the new charlie and the chcoclate factory - as someone said, it was just so awesome to begin with, why remake it?

i haven't been to the movies since we went to see the re-release of Alien and that was like 6 months ago, so i'm definitely in no hurry to see Spiderman2.
