Excellent gig! Way better then Werchter last Sunday! Still no new Bossanova or Trompe le Monde tunes, but including Is she weird. Band in good spirits, excellent version of Vamos. Of to bed a happy chappy!

Cheers, frank

Yep, totally agree.
It was nice how Frank made Kim screw up the beginning of Gigantic. He made her laugh so she could hardly sing the first verse.

only one word: wonderful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

one of the best concerts ever

Kim smiled for all the night

I loved the very slow version of Wave of
Mutilation

and I got crazy when they played Deeeeebaser !!!

just a little "negative note": they talked
to the audience just for saying two or three
times "thanks" ... a pity ...

I want to thank again Razzi, a very nice guy

and say hello to all the guys of this forum
I met last night in the front row !!!

ok, also to the two italian guys lost in the
crazy Amsterdam ... ... raga', siete
tornati sani e salvi a Bruxelles ????

Yep, air conditioned concert, but also full
of beautiful girls !!!!!!!!!

ciao!!!!

I was less enchanted with last night's show. The first few songs were performed so messily (is that a word?) and without any soul that I was about to ask my money back. Though they got better as the concert proceeded, overall I think it was an uninspired, routine-job (but not even 'tight' routine) performance.

I am a big Pixies fan, and I missed the Pixie spirit. Of course they grew a little older.

Finally, I didn't like the sound. I was standing about 30m from the stage, not so far from the middle, and the sound was very 'muddy' now and then. And what's with the echo on Frank's voice? That's just so lame...

Just my two cents.

I don't agree. The starting songs were excellent.

Concerning the sound, they had some problems also
during the Snow Patrol's concert.

Yep, not so good.

great gig
I went with my dad but he couldn't cope with all the moshing so
he got back to the bar and watched to gig from their.
He said he was overwhelmed with how many people knew every word of every song.
The moshing was irritating at first, people throwing beer all over my GBV shirt (SHAME ON THEM!), but later on I was really into it.

Some special things during the show (not many):

In the middle of cactus David did the spelling:
P-I-X-I-E-S (like the album version)
I could see that Kim was very surprised when he did that
Did he do it before? I never heard it on any Disclive recording

Joey Vamos solo was superb as always
almost nothing new
but he did a robot dance at the end of it
he was busy with his pedals and he made a delayed
distortion sound that came up every second
he was walking like a robot in the time of the sound
he also did the drumstick thing.

Frank played Velouria with a capo
never heard of that one too

that was about it
Nothing special, they sounded great to me
although the sound was way too hard
the people at HMH probably want us dead or something
my ears are still ringing

Vezio: the comeback to Bruxelles went smoothly, I was at home at quarter to eight a.m., and in my office an hour later. Francesco...well, actually I think he is still sleeping [bella per lui].

We are all waiting for Ernesto to tell us the truth about the Amsterdam tracklist, as (after a night without sleeping) my memory is losing ground and I have the first black hole at nr. 3 (shame on me!)

Many many thanks to razzi: sorry if I called you too many times but...believe me, in front of the Hall there were so many people looking like "potential-razzi"!

A special dedication to the girl who was standing by my right side [yeah, the one with the very Do-It-Yourself white Pixies shirt]:
I LOVE YOU (without la la)
had I slept tonight, I would have dreamed of you and your estatic face during Where Is My Mind.....

Of course I'll send them to you!! I trasferred them from Francesco's camera to my PC this morning and...actually, I have to say I hoped for something better, even if there are some quite good.
The group photo, with Ernesto and his gfriend and friend, is really nice instead.
This evening I am going to pass them from PC to CD-rom, so that tomorrow I will be able to send 'em.
ciao!

Although I'm a bigger fan of their earlier work, I have to admit "U-Mass" was a very good live version. Anyone else noticed this?

Hi all,

First of all I would like to start with saying the following: THE CONCERT WAS FUCKING GREAT.

I had a great time there, standing close in front of the stage. So I could see everything very well. In the beginning there were some people jumping around like crazy (but ok, I can imagine it a little bit). Two girls dancing like crazy in front of me, can it be more perfect?! I guess not. The only (little) sad thing was that I had to go after four numbers of Bettie Serveert (stupid trains).

BTW thank you Ernesto for posting the setlist.

If one of the girls knows who I am talking about, just reply with your time .

PS: until now I only found two pics on the internet from the concert. I can hardly believe that these are the only two...so post the links to the pics please.

you post it

what's the deal about Bettie Serveert?
I was really looking forward to see them
but they were playing in some little hall
that was upstairs
when I was about to go upstairs the stairs itself were packed
so I just went home
a shame

I haven`t got a scanner, i can make a picture...
Meanwhile i`ll tell you the story of my setlist. When Gigantic was played, the Pixies went off stage. Me and my girlfriend were standing in the front, screaming Pixies, just like the other fans :) But it didn`t help, the big lights went on, and everybody wanted to get out of there.. Except for a bunch of 30 people in the front row.... The roadies came on stage, taking the guitars etc. of stage and we screamed: Setlist Setlist Setlist ;).. The roadie was lookin` at us and he gave the setlist to a friendly security agent and the security agent puts his eyes closed and threw it to us.... thats where i catching it :)
Im very happy in it, and everybody next to me, could shoot me :)
