I just watched a couple episodes of this show on the DVD. Absolutely brilliant, the best high school show I've ever seen. I really wanted to see the episode where they get the non-alcoholic keg of beer. They were showing that at the video store. But unfortunately, one of the employees was taking it home, so we had to go with the second disc (that's how they rent out box-sets at this place). But the two episodes we watched, one involving Lindsay befriending the bad girl Kim, and the other involving Lindsay helping... Daniel, I think, cheat on his test (with a great subplot about pornography)... those two episodes were awesome. Can't wait to see 'em all. It goes to show what's wrong with both television and the people who watch it when a show like this, with innovations and clever insight, gets cancelled after one year and a formulaic show like That 70's Show stays on the air for 5+ years.

Fucking love it. I've owned the entire season on tape (way before it was released on DVD) for a long time. Brilliant show. Absolutely brilliant! I signed the petition to get it released on DVD too, so I feel like I did something.

Yeah, I remember when that was going around. I was excited because my roommate had told me about some great episodes. I was worried it wouldn't live up to the hype, but now that I've seen a few episodes, shoot, it's exceeded and transcended the hype.

Yeah. And I've noticed a surplus of Zeppelin references already. Hell, in the non-alcoholic keg episode they were playing the store, there were references to The Song Remaings the Same, the scene where they're all dressed like gangsters and one of the guys gets capped and multi-colored blood shoots out. The kids were saying they believe this was a sign that Bonham knew he was going to die. How funny is that to put in an episode of a show? It's little things like that which really make the show so different from anything else I've ever seen from network television.

Re: the music, at first they weren't going to release the DVD b/c it was hard to get lisence agreements from all the great songs they used, but then they were able too and that is what made them able to release it on DVD. Yahooo! I have it on my Amazon wishlist, maybe someone will get it for me for my birthday.

Absolutely wonderful show...I saw many of the episodes. Judd Apatow is simply amazing, and it sucks that two of his wonderful creations (Undeclared being the other) have been given the axe. It's really fucking depressing when you look back at the quality of both shows.

I spent my power and water bill money on the limited edition 9-disc set which includes everything in the regular box set plus an additional 3 discs worth of additional outtakes, auditions, commentary and memorabilia.
It's a fantastic piece, and I'm thriled with it. F & G was one of the most realistic and honest portrayals of American teenage life ever to air in the USA, and I can't wait for the similarly brilliant Undeclared to be made available.
