American Laundromat Records (ALR) is proud to welcome three new bands to the label. AM from Brooklyn, NY; The Modifiers from Boston, MA; and The Lovable Rogues from Long Island, NY. All three bands will be contributing songs to the upcoming ALR compilation CD due out in September. It is important to note; only eight bands were chosen to contribute to the compilation out of over one-hundred-fifty demos received.
AM www.amtheband.com is a three-piece explosion of pure punk-influenced power-pop from Brooklyn. Think 'The Clash' meets 'Supergrass'. James Jones' urgent vocals and crunchy guitar coupled with Scott Cleveland's dynamic bass lines, and Jarrod Ruby's powerhouse drums allow AM to surf amidst the giants of the New York music scene. Their debut record "Francophiles & Skinny Ties" is available now online and will be released in stores soon. The record is already receiving accolades from every important music critic in rock and roll and has started to receive radio airplay in the northeast. AM’s live shows are always exciting and they take away fans whenever and wherever they play. A U.K. tour is in the works but you can catch them this summer playing on the northeast.
The Modifiers www.themodifiers.com are a three-piece indie-rock/tubescreaming pop band from Boston. Formed in the late 90's, the band first began to attract attention playing in Boston as a regular opener for bands like the Lyres, with punk rock you can hum along with and pop that shakes you by the lapels. From city to rural, unemployment to this year's poor crop, or finding that elusive cheap 12-pack, The Modifiers have been primarily motivated by songs of dignity and despair. Their new record 'Secret Frequencies' showcases their ability to combine power chords, hooks, intelligent lyrics, sensibility and guts. It has already earned glowing reviews and charted as high as #1 on college radio.
The Lovable Rogues are a brilliant garage pop-punk quartet from Long Island. If you took a blender and mixed together The Clash, Elvis Costello, Neil Young, The Replacements, Nirvana, and The Who… you’d have The Lovable Rogues. The Rogues are notorious for long periods without a word only to spontaneously show up in NYC or London and put on a riveting show full of explosive numbers that leave audiences awestruck. The Rogues have just completed work on a retrospective CD spanning several years and includes previously unreleased tracks and rare b-sides.
AM, The Modifiers, The Lovable Rogues, and others will be supporting the upcoming ALR compilation CD by performing at three separate record release parties in September, October, and November. Shows will take place on Long Island, NYC, and New Haven, CT. The first show is Saturday, September 25th at ‘Village Pub South’, a well-respected rock club in Amityville, New York that supports and promotes independent artists. Additional shows will be announced shortly in NYC and New Haven, CT.
