I have been looking around for an answer for some time now, but unfortunately I can't seem to figure it out. So I thought - why not ask the pros? So here it goes. Where did the whole 'death to the pixies'/'the pixies must die'-thing/concept/slogan start? Who made it up? And why? And most important of all - what exactly does it mean?
Who knows? Not me... The only thing I know about it is it was the slogan on an early poster for the pixies, the one with Franks thumb pointing down in place of his penis I believe..

I'd like to know as well. Perhaps it's just a bit of humorous self-deprecation. I wonder if it inspired the "We hate They Might Be Giants" banner in TMBG's John Henry liner pictures.
there is an old bootleg called "death to the pixies". i always thought that the best of tittle was a weird "tribute" or at least related to that boot, though i'm probably wrong.
