Hey buymeasoda - I'm presuming you were right up the front - nice pics. I chickened out for two reasons - I'm getting too old for that sort of thing and my wife is 7 months pregnant - may have caused a few problems!

We were right back in front of the sound desk where the sound got a bit lost in the breeze at times. A 400mm lens can be a wonderful thing!

Yep, right at the front, it was very uncomfortable there but it was more than worth it to see the Pixies, this is the only chance I'll get to see them this year unless they do a UK tour.

I was right near the front, just a little bit across from the blue flag pictured there! I kinda wished I'd gone further back, as I spent most of the gig fighting for my life... still, they rocked and the crowd loved it (everyone was singing Joey's guitar parts really loud, eg. Here Comes Your Man: "Dun da-da-da-da-da-da dun! DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH!").

I could see Kim at the side of the stage during PJ Harvey's show (very good BTW) and the (ahem) Kings of Leon (stood listening to their excrutiatingly dull output just to get a good position for the Pixies)...

I got loads of pictures on a disposable camera, but not sure when I'll get to develop it. Got a feeling it would have been all steamed up, but I did snap both the Dave-to-Joe drumstick throw and the return, so here's hoping...

... and Joey has become quite the showman in his little Vamos slot!

Oh, and how the hell did the Strokes get to headline above the Pixies? They were dull as fuck!

I'm sure the Stokes were probably thinking the same thing
We watched the first 5 numbers by which time we realised that was about as exciting as it was going to get....exit here we come!

You can even see on the TV coverage that the crowd was far bigger for the Pixies set.

I've just noticed that the Zane Lowe show website on Radio 1 has the following info on the website "ALL WEEK :: T in the Park live tracks"

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/alt/zanelowe/

I've just tuned in to tonights show (with 5 minutes left) and he's just said "tonights last live T in the park track is from Goldie Lookin Chain". I'm hoping someone got a good quality recording if any Pixies were played tonight...

What's with the make up that Frank has on around his eyes? This is the first time that I've seen him wear make up (not including the mutant film he's in). It doesn't suit him, it makes him look odd.
I hate to say this, but it looks like he's put all the weight he lost (and more), back on again. It's a shame as he lost so much and was looking really well. I hope that he looks after himself so that he'll be around for many more years to come.

Hi everyone,
Just checked the footage (thanks for the link), and, with a bit of frame by frame investigation, yes, I was on TV! (I was stood right next to the girl with the "Debase Me" banner...)

It was my 30th birthday on 11th July, and what a way to spend it! Even if I did spend 10 hours on the train to get there, when I found out the Pixies were playing on my birthday I made it my lifes goal to get there. It really was incredible! Really hoping some more of the BBC footage becomes available....

I don't mind the eyeliner, but I did notice the size difference. I'm not sure if it's that when I saw him solo and with the Catholics last year he looked very much thinner because he was wearing black or not, but he did look in cracking shape last year, compared to this year and the ToTY times, at least.

I never noticed any size difference, but although the eyeliner is off-putting at first, IT'S ROCK AND ROLL!!! He's an oddball! Get over it! It's MEANT to look weird and unsettling!

The eyeliner looks just a tad silly imo.
Get over it? .....Um....ok....I'm over it.

It looked from the trailer last night that the T in the Park TV coverage next Friday will have a Pixies song (showed Frank briefly) -- they only seemed to show one song from each band last night. Also looks like PJ Harvey will be on, for anyone else interested (she was good too)...

I have just watched a tape of last night's BBC2 coverage of T in the Park. The show kicked off in grand style with the Pixies playing Bone Machine, Broken Face and Something Against You. I think most other acts, including PJ Harvey, only play one song. I still haven't finished the tape though!

Silus, try Chrissybaby's link posted earlier in this thread.

Ten Percenter, did they show Something Against You as well? I know they've shown BM, BF and Debaser a week or so ago. Also Here Comes Your Man and Where Is My Mind from the Manchester festival date was shown on UK TV.

I'm desperate to see the Manchester footage........

Hi Wilhelm,

They played Bone Machine, Broken Face and Something Against You, there was no Debaser this time, lamentably.

I'm a nurse and worked for a plastic surgeon for a number of years, and to me it looks like he's had eyelid surgery. If you compare close ups of his face now to those taken a few years ago, you can see that his lids (upper, especially) are much more defined. That might be why he looks like he's wearing makeup. And as for the weight, he's said many, many times that it's hard to eat well on the road. Just my two cents!

Dude i seriously doubt the Great man has had eye lid surgery!

I love the Strokes!
Why so many pixies fans hate the Strokes?
They make great music!

The Strokes are big fans of the Pixies, and the only listenable band these days
